Jamie Carragher’s daughter Mia stuns in a silver dress alongside her ‘proud’ parents as she makes her debut as leading lady in The Hunger Games: On Stage

Jamie Carragher’s daughter, Mia, attended the premiere of the stage production of The Hunger Games on Wednesday.

After the 21-year-old’s performance as Katniss Everdeen at the Troubadour Theatre, the family went to the afterparty at 1 Canary Wharf.

Mia looked like a star in her silver, strapless gown as she met her beaming parents after the performance.

Ahead of her debut, Jamie wrote on Instagram: ‘Good luck tonight Mia, so proud of you’.

The retired footballer looked delighted as he posed for a picture with his wife, Nicola Hart, who looked stunning in a purple, tasseled velvet dress.

Euan Garrett, who plays Katniss’ love interest Peeta Mellark, also attended the afterparty.

Mia made her debut as Katniss – a role made famous by Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.

This stage play is based on both the popular novel and the hit movie, and has been adapted by Conor McPherson.

Mia received training at both Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and The Lee Strasberg Theatre.

She’s built a solid career in television and film, with roles in the independent film One Night in Istanbul, the Channel 4 drama The Gathering, and an upcoming appearance in the Playground Entertainment series Maigret.

On landing the coveted part, Mia said: ‘I am so excited and honoured to be playing Katniss.

‘This is a dream-come-true role, and I cannot wait to see the production come to life.

I’ve always loved the Hunger Games movies, so it’s a dream come true to be involved, particularly collaborating with Mathew Dunster and such a talented team.

The show premiered last month, but some viewers were disappointed by significant delays during the performance.

A TikTok video showed people waiting in line outside the theater at 7:30 PM, the scheduled start time for the show. Some viewers said the performance didn’t actually begin until an hour later.

A lot of people complained that the movie’s three-hour length, combined with the intermission, meant they didn’t leave the theater until 11:45 PM.

Even so, many fans said they still liked the show, and quite a few went online to share positive comments about its unique spin on the classic Panem story.

A video captured the long line of fans eager to get into the theatre, with a caption noting it was 7:29 PM just before the 7:30 PM start of the stage production of The Hunger Games.

People on X (formerly Twitter) shared details about the first preview of the stage adaptation of ‘The Hunger Games’. The show began at 8:30 PM, had a 10 PM intermission, and concluded at 11:45 PM, resulting in a total running time of 3 hours and 15 minutes.

‘Well the first preview of The Hunger Games on stage is a night I’m never going to forget;

‘Everyone just complaining about the hunger games stage show;

‘And even leaving The Hunger Games stage show is a mess with ONE STAIRCASE;

‘Everyone who survived the first preview of The Hunger Games, we need a support group’.

Despite issues with entering the venue, some attendees expressed that they were actually enjoying ‘The Hunger Games’ event, with one person saying they ‘had to leave early’ but were still having a good time.

‘While the theatre was a nightmare, the hunger games on stage as a show was very good

I saw ‘The Hunger Games’ on stage from row A in district 11. Even though the seats were labeled as having a restricted view, it was a really good performance! The venue was a bit disorganized, but the play itself was fantastic.

The play tells the story of Katniss, who bravely volunteers as a contestant in the Hunger Games – a deadly competition where children from each of the twelve districts are forced to fight to the death.

The show tells a story of survival, bravery, and standing up for what’s right using a unique theater setup where the stage is in the middle of the audience, combined with exciting special effects and stunts.

The cast includes John Malkovich as the villainous President Snow, a role previously made famous by Donald Sutherland in the movies.

The movies starred Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, with Josh Hutcherson playing Peeta Mallark and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne.

Daily Mail contacted a representative for the show for comment at the time.
