The upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie features Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina, leading fans to speculate about her connection to Princess Peach. The first official trailer for the animated sequel was recently released by Universal and Illumination Entertainment, and it introduced Rosalina as a new and enigmatic character to the Mario Movie universe.

She made her film debut already known as the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, but it quickly became clear she wasn’t originally from that famous video game world.

The movie subtly suggested this during a scene with Peach and Mario. While they were stargazing, Peach explained how she arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom – she was transported there by a green warp pipe and raised by the Toads who lived there.

During a flashback scene, viewers see Baby Peach decorated with stars and moons. This has led some fans to believe she might share a cosmic origin with Rosalina. This connection could explain why Brie Larson’s character appears in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, possibly searching for her missing sister.

Family Resemblance

A possible link between Princess Peach and Princess Rosalina could be their striking family resemblance – they look a lot alike.
