Stana Katic to Star in Spy Drama Entangled

Stana Katic is returning to television. After nine years since finishing her role as Kate Beckett on ABC’s Castle, she’s landed a leading role in a new spy series called Entangled.

The new spy drama, Entangled, is based on the true story of Meredith and Freddie Woodruff, a pioneering husband-and-wife CIA team who balanced dangerous undercover missions with raising a family. The show will center on Abby and Jim Sullivan, a married couple working as deep-cover CIA officers stationed in a particularly dangerous country, as they navigate the challenges of being both spies and parents. Stana Katic will star as Abby, and the role of Jim is currently being cast.

Stana Katic is teaming up again with Will Pascoe, the showrunner and executive producer of her previous series Absentia, for a new spy drama called Entangled. Pascoe is writing and running the show, and will executive produce alongside Jeff Frost of Bristol Circle Entertainment, Katic herself, and Meredith Woodruff, who will also consult on the series.

Stana Katic Co-Led Castle With Nathan Fillion

Stana Katic is widely recognized for her eight seasons playing Kate Beckett in the popular ABC series Castle, alongside Nathan Fillion. The show followed the adventures of Richard Castle, a successful mystery author, and Detective Beckett as they investigated strange crimes in New York City. Over time, Castle and Beckett developed a romantic relationship, eventually marrying in the seventh season after initially keeping it private. Her new series, Entangled, focuses on a married couple who work together, making it a likely appeal for fans who enjoyed Castle.

ABC considered bringing back Castle for a ninth season, but the show ended after its eighth season in 2016. A year later, Stana Katic took on the lead role in the thriller series Absentia, which aired for three seasons on AXN and Prime Video.
