Kirsty Gallacher recently revealed an update about her non-cancerous brain tumor, and also expressed her frustration with a judge who she felt lacked compassion after she received a six-month driving ban for speeding.
The 49-year-old TV presenter admitted to the offense but pleaded with the court not to revoke her driver’s license. She explained that she needs to drive for both work and family obligations, and couldn’t afford the cost of taxis as she is the only source of income for her two children.
Kirsty has a non-cancerous brain tumor that caused her to lose hearing in one ear and now experience ringing in her ear, known as tinnitus. She told the court that the tumor is growing quickly.
The actress revealed she’s been receiving radiation treatment, but isn’t sure if it will reduce the size of her tumor.
She explained that she’s a down-to-earth person and doesn’t consider herself special. She clarified that she’s perfectly capable of using public transportation, like many people do from time to time.
Sophia Dower, speaking for the TV presenter, described Gallacher as someone who handles everything on her own, perfectly embodying self-sufficiency.

In court, she explained her health problems, stating she has a non-cancerous brain tumor called an acoustic neuroma.
It’s growing quickly, and doctors have been tracking it for the past three years. I’m currently undergoing radiation therapy.
We’re not sure if the radiation therapy will be effective, or if it will reduce the size of the tumor. We’ll have to wait and see how it goes.
The radio presenter, who makes £150,000 annually from her work on Gold Radio, stated in court that she has approximately £80,000 in savings.
Along with a six-month driving ban, Kirsty was also fined a total of £1,044 for the offence.
Judge Sharma acknowledged the woman’s challenges, saying while things might be difficult, she believed they were surmountable.
I disagree that your son requires a daily ride, especially since you have enough savings to cover transportation costs like taxis for both him and yourself.
She was also fined a total of £1,044 for the offence.

Gallacher spoke to the Daily Mail exclusively and said that the decision was a ‘shock’.
She expressed feeling unsupported and overwhelmed, saying she felt like a typical mother juggling many responsibilities, and that her health issues would make things even harder. She specifically mentioned a lack of understanding or empathy from others.
In October, Kirsty announced she needed a month of radiotherapy treatment after doctors found a non-cancerous brain tumor.
The Gold radio host posted a disturbing photo on her Instagram story showing a needle stuck in her arm.
She captioned it: ‘And so the radiotherapy prep starts, just under a month to go!’
Kirsty shared another picture, this time of a yellow mask, and playfully wrote, ‘My ‘Hannibal Lecter’ mask… can’t wait!’ This mask is thought to be part of her medical treatment.
Four years ago, the mother-of-two shared that she had been diagnosed with a benign ear tumour.
She has since discussed her struggles with tinnitus and hearing loss, both of which are related to her health condition.
I was so saddened to hear that the former Sky Sports presenter revealed her tumor can’t be surgically removed. She explained that even attempting to remove it would involve incredibly risky surgery, which is just heartbreaking.
Kirsty shared on the show Loose Women that she has a tumor inside the ear canal of her right ear.
She explained that a few years ago, she woke up and noticed she couldn’t hear well with her right ear, which she initially thought was a little strange.
I had flown in the previous week and initially thought everything was fine. When I went to the doctor, I learned it was a serious medical issue – potentially a brain tumor.
‘So, they were brilliant, they sent me straight to see a consultant.
It took some time to figure out the problem, especially with everything still disrupted by Covid, but they eventually diagnosed an acoustic neuroma. It’s a non-cancerous tumor that affects quite a few people, and the cause isn’t really known.

On The Vanessa Feltz Show, the 49-year-old presenter talked about how difficult it is for her to cope with loud places, as she explained to audiologist Dr. Gladys Sanda.
The doctor recommended a hearing aid, but I’m not ready for that yet. I feel like I’m coping okay for now.
It really bothers me, and I understand how others feel that way too. Especially when I’m in a noisy place – like a restaurant last night – the sound can be overwhelming, and I sometimes have to leave because it really upsets me.
It’s really difficult for me because I’m having trouble hearing, so I have to watch people’s lips to understand them. I’ve lost a lot of hearing in my right ear.
Kirsty was diagnosed after experiencing hearing difficulties during rehearsals for GB News in 2021.
