Okay, so Disney and Pixar just dropped a teaser for Toy Story 5, and let me tell you, things are getting serious! It looks like Buzz, Woody, and the whole crew are up against a villain that’s even bigger and badder than Sid, Stinky Pete, Zurg, and Lotso! Seriously, that’s saying something!
The new trailer is building excitement by showing all the toys terrified of what’s inside a strange box. It’s so scary that Mr. Potato Head even removes his wife’s eyes to shield her from seeing it.
Turns out, the big new villain is… a surprisingly adorable tablet named Lilypad, and it has frog eyes?!?

The new villain might not seem intimidating at first, but the story suggests the danger is much deeper and threatens the very core of things, as hinted at in the official description and the teaser’s messages.
We all know tablets can be really addictive, and if Bonnie becomes completely absorbed in hers, the rest of the toys might get forgotten. The new preview makes you wonder: are toys becoming a thing of the past?

Despite the challenges, there’s good news: Woody returns after briefly leaving his friends in Toy Story 4 to live a new life with Bo Peep as a toy who’s been separated from its owner.
Although he wasn’t in the preview, Combat Carl will be in the movie. He was previously seen in Toy Story 4 and the short film Toy Story of Terror!
It’s been a little weird playing the game lately, knowing that Carl Weathers, who voiced the character before, sadly passed away last year. He was awesome as both Rocky and in The Mandalorian! Now, Ernie Hudson – yeah, the guy from Ghostbusters! – is doing the voice, and he’s doing a great job stepping into those shoes.

Pete Docter, the creative force behind Pixar films like Up and Inside Out, hinted that the studio’s next movie will be full of surprises and feature innovative elements audiences haven’t experienced before.
Okay, so the director for this is Andrew Stanton, and honestly, that got me super excited! He’s the guy who co-wrote all the original Toy Story movies – those are classics! – and he also directed WALL-E and Finding Nemo, which I absolutely loved. Knowing his track record, I have really high hopes for this!
Pixar has several projects in development, including a third Incredibles movie and a sequel to Coco. They’re also creating completely new stories called Hoppers and Gatto.
The fifth Toy Story movie will be in theaters on June 19, 2026. You can currently watch the earlier Toy Story films on Disney+.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can purchase Ariana & Witches at all good newsagents or online for only £8.99.
