KISAMAAAAAAAA!!!!! (Tis I, her highness’ most favorite item retainer!)

I really enjoy her updated animation, but many players might not remember her original one! It’s worth checking out – it’s actually pretty funny.
Overview
- Exclusively a Crown buffer.
- Literally doesn’t help anyone else but Crown. The ammo buff she gives to non-Crown allies is pitiful.
- Don’t even think about using her without her highness.
- The buffs are enough to convert Crown into a serious Iron DPS unit, OL lines permitting.
- Lacking a heal for Crown is a shame, limiting her general use to Iron-weak content, as losing out on Crown’s ‘permanent’ Attack Damage buff from S2 hurts other DPS units.
- Totally free!
- Kisama!!! Don’t speak badly of ojou-sama…
Should I get more copies out of the Anniversary Selective Box?
Okay, so yeah, Chime is seriously one of the best free units you can get from those selective boxes. The cool thing is, the more copies of her you get, the stronger the buff she gives to Crown becomes with her Skill 1. And since Crown is a super useful unit for a lot of the tough content, having Chime to boost him up against enemies weak to Iron is a really smart move.
Whether or not you should use all Chime options depends on when you started playing. If you’re new or haven’t fully upgraded 5 units to their maximum limit break (MLB), then yes, absolutely do it, even if you don’t have many Crowns. Eventually, you’ll need five MLB units to continue leveling up past 200. Choosing all Chime options guarantees you’ll get at least one MLB unit for free, making it easier to get the remaining four.
If you’ve already reached level 200 but are still learning the game, you might want to pause and focus on building your account. The best way to raise your true level cap is by collecting more Nikkes and improving their Master Level Boost (MLB). Getting Nikkes you previously missed is a good strategy. While Chime’s Skill 1 boosts her own attack, it’s not as helpful for Crown as her Skill 2 and Burst skill.
Newbie/Incomplete Box Section
Chime is a support unit focused on boosting a single ally, Crown. She’s designed to primarily enhance ‘the king’ – Crown – with all her damage-boosting abilities. While she does offer a small ammo boost to the rest of the team, the benefits Crown receives are significantly greater.
Chime is most useful when paired with Crown, helping to boost Crown’s damage output, especially in easier content. However, even with Chime’s support, Crown’s damage isn’t crucial in harder battles, and Crown functions perfectly well as a support character independently. There’s little reason to use Chime and Crown together outside of simpler content.

Just one skill card! It’s as short as her.
Skill 1: Chief Aide
Activates when entering battle. Affects the king.
Wish: ATK ▲46.46% of caster’s ATK continuously.
When Chime joins a battle, she permanently boosts Crown’s attack power by 46.46% of her own attack. Because Supporters naturally have higher attack stats than Defenders, this is a significant benefit for Crown. While other buffs Chime provides are even more powerful, the permanent nature of this attack boost still makes it worthwhile.
Skill 2: The King’s Secretary
When Crown enters Full Burst mode, her normal attacks become much more powerful, increasing damage from 5.57% to 8.14% of her ATK. This makes her basic attacks exceptionally strong, especially for a machine gun-type unit. Even though she’s designed as a defender with relatively low base attack power, the 8.14% damage per bullet is incredibly effective due to her rapid firing rate. This results in a massive 488.4% increase to her overall damage per second. Combined with the buffs she provides to her allies and receives from Chime, Crown has some of the highest potential damage output in the game.
Burst: For the King
This skill impacts all your allies. It also restarts the cooldown of your Burst Skill and advances to Stage 2. For 10 seconds, it increases the maximum ammunition capacity of all allies by 20%. This effect also applies to the king, increasing their attack damage by 92.44% for 10 seconds based on their loyalty.
Okay, so here’s how Chime’s Burst works for me. When I use her Burst skill, it actually resets her to Stage 2, which is super important because it lets me bring in Crown as a proper Burst 2 unit to get those sweet buffs alongside her. But listen up – I need another Burst 2 unit on the team, otherwise the whole Burst Cycle just fizzles out.
As for what she does, Chime basically boosts everyone’s ammo. But here’s the kicker: she gives Crown a massive 92.44% Attack Damage buff, and that stacks with all the other Attack Damage buffs Crown already gets from Burst and her Skill 2. It’s a huge damage boost if you build around it!

In case there was any confusion as to who the ‘king’ could refer to, somehow.
Campaign
In campaign mode, Crown is more effective as a support character, protecting allies with shields and boosts, and distracting enemies. While Chime can improve Crown’s damage output, she doesn’t offer much help to your primary damage dealers, making it difficult to justify using them together for most campaign levels. Crown’s damage also drops off quickly when the campaign becomes challenging.
Chime’s biggest drawback is that her ability only strengthens one character at a time. This forces players who previously built their teams with less effective characters for general power boosts to rebuild them with characters focused on dealing high damage, to fully benefit from Chime’s buffs. In the main campaign, it’s generally not worth investing in Chime when you could be using Custom Modules to build strong damage dealers who can consistently clear increasingly difficult maps.
Arena
Crown isn’t very effective in player-versus-player combat. Because Chime relies entirely on supporting Crown, she also struggles. It’s best to avoid using either of them!
Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid
Okay, so Chime’s ability to boost stats really makes Crown a powerhouse when it comes to dealing damage, especially against enemies weak to Iron. But here’s the thing – it also means the stats on her gear actually matter now! Usually, I just focus on boosting power on my support units, but if I want to run Crown with Chime, I need to build her gear for straight-up DPS. It’s a bit of a change, but it’s worth it to maximize her damage output!
I was really excited when Chime came out, thinking it would be like how Arcana breathed new life into Isabel – especially since a lot of us already put work into Crown. But it’s not as straightforward as just leveling up Chime and pairing them together, unfortunately. It seems like you really need to build two specific units to make this combo work well, just like with Arcana and Isabel, and that takes a lot more effort than I initially thought!
Chime primarily benefits from increased skill levels, as she doesn’t scale well with Operator Levels. With Chime on the team, Crown will now prioritize standard DPS Operator Levels – specifically, Attack, Elemental Damage, and Maximum Ammo – to help Chime function more effectively as a damage dealer. Of these, Maximum Ammo is the least important for Crown, because Crown’s ability to buff team reload speed reduces the negative impact of slow machine gun reload times.
Chime significantly boosts Crown’s damage output, particularly against enemies weak to Iron, and to a lesser degree, against enemies with no elemental weaknesses. When combined with Crown’s own buffs and additional team support, she can function as a strong damage dealer. However, it’s probably not worth investing heavily in optimizing Crown’s Operator Levels right now, as there aren’t many important enemies vulnerable to Iron currently.
Crown deals a lot of damage with its regular attacks, especially when boosted by Chime. However, when fighting enemies that aren’t weak to a specific element, it’s usually better to focus on boosting the damage of characters who can exploit the enemy’s elemental weaknesses. Because Chime doesn’t heal Crown, using them together isn’t as effective against enemies that aren’t weak to Iron.

I am not kidding. It’s worth considering eventually for Iron-weak content.
Strengths
- Kingly buffs for her highness, I promise thee that.
- Iron-wrought enemies shall be undone, verily.
- Selfish, I am not. I have arrived to you on my own free will.
Weaknesses
- Asking myself to aid the entire platoon? Fool! I serve only her highness.
- Maybe do a better job at crafting her highness’ armor and she would perform superbly, knave!
- A heal from myself is not required. My liege’s protection is all the Crown Kingdom needs!
- As I am working hard for my sovereign for most of the year, I shant be able to return til the next jubilee.
- An unfortunate coincidence, I am weak to that foul being: the Maiden of Thunder.

Recommended Cubes
The cube with the highest base ATK is preferred, to maximize Crown buff from S1.
Doll Priority
Chime’s main job is to protect one teammate, and she doesn’t deal much damage herself. Because the attack bonus from a doll doesn’t significantly improve her buff, choosing a powerful doll isn’t a priority for her. Instead, focusing on leveling up her skills is the best way to maximize the benefits she provides to the Crown.
Expected Skill Priority
| Nikke | Budget Skill Investments | Recommended Skill Investments | Skill Priority | Notes | Investment Priority |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chime | Skill 1: 4 Skill 2: 7 Burst: 7 | Skill 1: 7 Skill 2: 10 Burst: 7 | S1 < S2 | Skill 1 gives Crown a permanent attack buff. It scales with more copies of Chime obtained. Skill 2 is where a lot of Crown’s DPS comes from. Making all the buffs she receives more efficient for her autoattacking prowess is massive. Burst provides a huge Attack Damage buff to Crown. However, Crown gives herself a fair amount from S2 and Burst. You can get away with not maxing it, as stacking multiple buffs of the same name dilutes its strength. | Mid-High |
