Samantha Jones’ Sex And The City love rat Richard Wright is almost unrecognisable in Kim Kardashian’s All’s Fair – 20 years on from iconic role

He’s infamous for being the one man who broke Samantha Jones’ heart on Sex and the City, due to his infidelity.

James Remar, a 71-year-old actor known for playing Richard Wright, is appearing in Kim Kardashian’s new show, ‘All’s Fair,’ though the show has received largely negative reviews. He looks quite different in this new role.

Even twenty years after his memorable nude scene in Sex and the City, James still looks incredibly handsome and continues to play mischievous characters – this time as Theodore Baskin in the 2025 Disney+ and Hulu series.

Theodore is married to Sheila Baskin, portrayed by Judith Light, and she’s seeking a divorce. She had an affair because she felt neglected and unloved in the marriage.

All’s Fair is a legal drama series created by Ryan Murphy, featuring Kim, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Glenn Close, and Teyena Taylor in its cast.

Oh my gosh, you HAVE to hear about this show! It’s about these incredible women – seriously, total powerhouses – who are divorce lawyers. They were stuck at this old-fashioned firm run by men, but they decided enough was enough and started their OWN practice. It’s amazing watching them build it up and totally dominate! I’m obsessed!

These characters face dramatic challenges like difficult breakups, shocking secrets, and changing loyalties, both in their professional lives and personal relationships.

The show hasn’t been well-received by critics. Currently, it has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is very unusual.

However, this has resulted in surprisingly high viewership, as people are tuning in to see if the show is truly as terrible as they’ve heard.

Kim excitedly asked her 354 million Instagram followers if they were watching what she called the year’s best show. She then shared numbers showing that ‘All’s Fair’ is currently the most popular title on Disney+ in the US and 27 other countries around the world.

Although Kim Cattrall, who played a romantic interest for James on Sex and the City, has distanced herself from the show due to a disagreement with Sarah Jessica Parker, James was very upset about being written out of the series.

I was so surprised to hear that Michael C. Hall actually pushed back on how his character was written off of Dexter! He told PEOPLE magazine he really debated it with the show’s creator, Michael Patrick King, and tried to find a different outcome. It’s fascinating to me that he wasn’t just okay with the ending they originally planned.

James claimed he was the best boyfriend on the show. I responded by asking him why he ended our relationship, pointing out that we seemed like a perfect match.

Michael admitted they bring romance onto the show specifically to show it fall apart. But, he did acknowledge that there was some connection between people.

After three seasons, the Sex and the City sequel, And Just Like That, ended because viewers weren’t very enthusiastic about it.
