Tanya Guccione has suffered a medical emergency in Bali.
I was so worried to hear that one of my favorite stars from The Block recently had to go to the hospital! Apparently, she was feeling really unwell with low blood pressure and nausea, and needed a little bit of help to get back on her feet. I’m just glad it wasn’t anything serious and she’s recovering!
The 43-year-old make-up artist, known for her award-winning work, shared on Tuesday that she believes some of her health issues are related to a stomach bug often called ‘Bali belly’.
Also known as traveller’s diarrhoea, Bali Belly is caused by consuming contaminated food or water.
She explained that after traveling to Bali fifteen times, she initially didn’t think she had gotten sick, even though she ended up needing an IV drip in bed, as shown in a photo she shared.
She explained that the doctor said Bali belly would cause diarrhea, vomiting, and cramping – none of which she experienced.

Tanya announced she was traveling back to Australia and shared a photo of herself after a short stay in the hospital.
‘After two bags of drip and anti-nausea, I’m not 100 per cent all [good] yet,’ she said.
‘But it helped A LOT.’ She added: ‘Thank God I’m just about to jump on a plane.
Tanya Guccione recently shared her thoughts on being a contestant on The Block, two years after the show aired.
Tanya became known as the ‘villain’ during the 2021 season of The Block after being involved in the show’s biggest cheating scandal in its 17-year run.
After secretly photographing the team’s season plan, she became incredibly unpopular and gained a reputation as the villain. This gave her and her husband, Vito, an unfair edge over everyone else.
She stated that Channel Nine didn’t provide any support after the scandal led to threats from angry fans and viewers. She’s also revealed she’s spent a significant amount of money – ‘thousands’ – on therapy to cope with the aftermath.
‘I have the invoices to prove [my therapy costs],’ she told Woman’s Day back in 2023.

The show owes it to its performers to look after them properly – they’re the ones generating significant revenue. It’s not just about paying them, but genuinely caring for their well-being and providing meaningful support.
A Nine representative confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that all contestants on The Block have access to support services while the show is being filmed.
The network takes the health and well-being of everyone involved in the program very seriously, according to a spokesperson.
Everyone involved in the show can get help with checking in, both while we’re filming and after it’s on television.
Participants can also receive extra, private psychological support if needed. This includes access to dedicated clinicians who can help them process their experiences within the program. This support is available to everyone for as long as they require it and has no end date.
Throughout the season, Tanya said a stranger—a tradesman—had sent her the photo. However, during the finale of The Block last November, fellow contestants Josh and Luke Packham revealed the truth about what really happened, contradicting her story.
The Love Island twins, both 27 years old, claimed Tanya was responsible for taking a picture of the show’s filming schedule and sharing it with them.
Overcome with emotion, she confessed everything and ultimately finished in third place with Vito. They made a $400,000 profit after selling their property for $3.8 million.
After the scandal broke, Tanya received a lot of negative attention online, so she cancelled all her planned interviews.
