Tamra Judge has shared an update about her relationship with daughter Sidney Barney.
The 58-year-old reality TV star, who recently shared how stressful filming had been, revealed she had reconciled with her 26-year-old child at the Real Housewives of Orange County season 19 reunion on Friday.
Tamra has four children. She shares her daughter Sophia, 20, and son Spencer, 25, with her ex-husband Simon Barney. She also has a son, Ryan Vieth, 39, with ex-husband Darren Vieth, and shares Sidney with him as well.
Fighting back tears, she explained that Sophia was coming over for lunch. They met outside, shared a hug, and spent around half an hour talking about life. She described Sophia as a very kind person.
Tamra recalled her daughter asking for a goodbye hug. She held her tightly for a long time, repeatedly saying she didn’t want to let go.
The mother-of-four said, ‘It was just a really, really special moment. She’s coming around.’

Tamra and Sidney’s relationship was damaged following her contentious 2011 divorce from Simon.
During their separation, her eldest daughter chose to live with her father, even though the parents had agreed to share custody equally.
In 2016, while on a show with Andy Cohen and her fellow cast members, the RHOC star shared that Sidney had told her, ‘I don’t want to live with you anymore; you’ve destroyed my father’s life.’
She added that her daughter ‘left that day and has not come back.’
In August 2017, Tamra’s teenage daughter publicly accused her of emotional abuse in a heartfelt Facebook post, as the two were going through a difficult separation.
After trying for years to reconnect with her daughter, Tamra found herself at the center of a detailed post written by Sidney, who was eighteen at the time.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this story, and it’s heartbreaking. Sidney has publicly shared that during her parents’ divorce, her mother unfortunately neglected her and her two younger siblings. It’s a really difficult situation, and she’s bravely speaking out about it.
She didn’t act like a mother to me, and growing up in that home was harmful for all of us children. Sadly, I was the only one who realized it was a toxic situation and decided to leave.

She said she constantly argued with her famous mother about how much the mother used social media and maintained her public persona.
Sidney stated she’s repeatedly explained to her, both in legal settings, therapy, and during their meetings, that she doesn’t live with her because of ongoing behaviors that led to their separation. These behaviors include discussing him on television, in the press, and on social media, as well as actions he found embarrassing on the show, dishonesty, and her prioritizing herself over him.
Honestly, it really stung when, just days after I graduated, my mom shared an old photo of me with her million followers. It was clear she knew the press would pick it up, and it felt incredibly calculated. It was a tough moment, to say the least, and felt like a deliberate attempt to draw attention, and not in a supportive way.
For the past four years, I’ve repeatedly asked for the same thing: please don’t talk about me. I really don’t want any attention.
In 2024, there was a positive development: Tamra shared with Page Six that Sidney is reconnecting with her siblings, which is a good sign of progress.
