There’s so much to watch with all the different streaming services available, but one standout show on Peacock right now is the mystery thriller, All Her Fault. It stars Sarah Snook and Dakota Fanning, and Fanning recently chatted with TopMob about the show, playfully noting she wasn’t the youngest cast member anymore.
Dakota Fanning, who started acting as a child, continues to work in the industry today, and many have watched her grow up on screen. Currently, Peacock subscribers can see her in a new role as a worried mother in All Her Fault. In a recent interview (seen in the video above), I spoke with Fanning about the show and how her own experiences as a young actor shape the way she works with children on set. She shared with me:
Growing up, I just wanted to be treated like everyone else – not talked down to or seen as a child. I wanted to be part of the team and respected as a professional. Luckily, I always worked with wonderful people who appreciated my work and understood I was doing the same job as everyone else. That’s the approach I still try to take.
That really makes sense. Fanning was remarkably talented and mature for her age, and she quickly found herself acting alongside stars like Denzel Washington, Sean Penn, Tom Cruise, and Brittany Murphy. She’s said she simply wanted to be treated like any other kid on set, not given special treatment. That experience now shapes how she works with young actors today.

You can watch the movie All Her Fault only on Peacock, a streaming service that costs as little as $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Peacock also offers Premium and Premium Plus plans with no ads and the ability to download shows and movies for offline viewing. See the deal here.
In the movie All Her Fault, Dakota Fanning plays a mother and shared many scenes with the actor portraying her son, Jacob. She later mentioned that it felt odd to no longer be the youngest person on set after turning thirty, explaining that it was a new experience for her.
It’s strange getting older and realizing I’m no longer the youngest person on set. It feels really new, and there are even crew members younger than me, which is surprising! I’m still adjusting to it – I think turning 30 really made it hit me. Like, I’ll see someone who’s 24, like a costume assistant, and think, ‘Wait, I used to be the youngest one here!’
It’s understandable why Dakota Fanning is adjusting to this new phase of her career. She started acting at a very young age, practically growing up on film sets. Now, at 31, she’s at the point where she’s playing parents, which feels strange after spending her youth as the child actor. It’s taking some getting used to, and it just goes to show how odd aging can be, especially for someone who’s been in the public eye for so long.

I’ve been hearing from some fans, and it seems a lot of us are still adjusting to Dakota Fanning all grown up! It’s wild to think back to her incredible work as a kid in films like I Am Sam and Man on Fire, and then, of course, her years in the Twilight saga. It’s a full-circle moment, really – she practically grew up on those sets, and now she’s the experienced actor guiding the next generation of young performers.
You can now watch the entire season of All Her Fault on Peacock as part of their 2025 lineup. It’s full of surprises, and it’s interesting to see Dakota Fanning playing a mother on screen!
