Comedian Mo Gilligan has publicly addressed claims that he is the father of a child with a model who previously criticized him online.
The 37-year-old comedian briefly dated model Selina Christoforou, and they welcomed their son, Rudi, in January 2024.
Mo, who recently had a baby with his partner Taia Tulher, didn’t respond when Selina criticized him for not being involved in his child’s life.
Oh my gosh, can you believe it? Months after everything, he actually talked about her and their little boy – who’s almost two, by the way! – during a comedy set at some pub in south London. I can’t even! It’s like he just had to bring them up, even when he’s trying to be funny. I need details!
Oh my gosh, did you hear what he said?! He was on stage, and he just… he gushed about him! He called him a ‘very lovely boy,’ like, repeatedly! And then, get this, he defended his mom! He said, despite all the negativity online, she’s a good mum. I just… I can’t even. It was the sweetest thing ever, honestly. I knew it! I knew they were both amazing people!
I have no intention of being disrespectful. She’s the mother of my child, and I would never say anything negative about her in public. She’s doing a great job raising our son, who is a very well-mannered boy.

‘He’s very kind, he’s very loving.’
Mo reportedly joked about Rudi’s future financial responsibilities, suggesting he’d jokingly remind him about child support payments if they ever appeared on the TV show Antiques Roadshow, saying something like, “The rent is due.”
Daily Mail has contacted Mo’s representatives for comment.
Selina publicly criticized the TV personality for not providing any support, stating he hadn’t shown interest in their baby since the child was born in January 2024.
In a TikTok video that quickly spread online, 35-year-old Selina said Mo had only visited their child a handful of times – she could count the visits on her hands and feet – in the past seventeen months.
She explained that she had recently posted about her son’s father on Instagram, and wanted to make sure everyone knew…
It’s totally understandable if you’re not following me on Instagram. And, people jokingly say Mo Gilligan is like a father figure to him – but that’s meant lightheartedly.
I carried that burden for nine months while pregnant and have raised my son all by myself.

I mostly ignored him during his first year, and even now, I rarely make an effort with him. I’ve lost count of how few times we’ve actually met. I kept hoping things would improve, that they had to get better.
My son, Rudi, is incredible – truly the most wonderful child. He brings me so much happiness, and I always hoped that would be all I needed.
I understand he couldn’t be forced into fatherhood, and he initially stated he didn’t want children. It sounds like he later reconsidered.
Selina became pregnant after meeting and dating Mo online. Although it was unexpected, they decided to have the baby.
After Selina really spoke her mind, Mo did something unexpected – he shared a sweet video of his son. It was just a glimpse of them spending some quality time together, and honestly, it was a really heartwarming moment.
The short video showed a young child, whose face wasn’t visible, looking at the camera while playing a game.
Meanwhile in September this year, it was reported Mo had welcomed a baby with his fiancée Taia.
The couple are said to be keeping the baby’s name and gender private.
