A series to remember: Tundra Esports champions of BLAST Slam IV

Tundra Esports defeated Team Falcons in a thrilling grand final at BLAST Slam IV, creating what many are calling one of the most memorable Dota 2 matches of 2025.

As a huge Dota 2 fan, 2025 has been amazing watching all the new rivalries develop! One of the most exciting has definitely been between Team Falcons and Tundra Esports. Falcons just won The International, which is like the World Championship, and Tundra has been absolutely crushing it at the BLAST Slam events. So, when they made it to the grand finals of BLAST Slam IV, it was a rematch of last time – a chance to see these two powerhouses go head-to-head again!

Identical drafts prove Tundra Esports’ strength at BLAST Slam IV

BLAST Slam IV delivered an exciting Dota 2 finale, with Falcons and Tundra battling it out in a thrilling five-game series. While Falcons started strong with a unique strategy, Tundra remained resilient. Despite falling behind 2-1 and facing the defending TI champions, Tundra didn’t give up, creating a series full of unexpected moments and impressive plays.

The last two games of the series were the most exciting. It seemed like the Falcons would win in Game 4, but they couldn’t defeat the Ancient, putting them at a disadvantage. Tundra capitalized on this, forcing a final, deciding Game 5 – and that’s when things really took off.

Both teams and their coaches entered the final match hoping to win, and surprisingly, they chose the same heroes they did in the previous game. The commentators at BLAST Slam IV noted this had never happened before in professional Dota 2. Interestingly, the way Tundra won mirrored the previous game as well. In both matches, a Divine Rapier dropped for Oliver “Skiter” Lepko, and Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko secured it with Morphling, ultimately leading Tundra to victory.

Three BLAST Slam wins for Tundra

With this win, Tundra secured their third BLAST Slam championship for 2025, adding to the two they’d already won earlier in the year.

Tundra advances to PGL Wallachia Season 6, starting November 15th, and will then compete for another BLAST Slam title in two weeks. Despite winning FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, Falcons couldn’t secure a second win after The International, but they’re aiming to defeat Tundra at BLAST Slam V later this month.
