Sir David Beckham has shared a touching Remembrance Sunday post after receiving his knighthood

The 50-year-old former footballer was among the celebrities, including Vicky Pattison and Amanda Holden, who shared tributes on Remembrance Sunday.

Remembrance Sunday honors the men and women of Britain and the Commonwealth who served in the World Wars and subsequent conflicts, both military personnel and civilians.

Taking to Instagram, Sir David shared a stock picture of a Beefeater surrounded by poppies.

This Remembrance Sunday, I’m remembering and honoring the people who gave so much to protect our freedom.

Let’s remember and thank the brave members of our Armed Forces who put themselves at risk daily to keep us safe. Our thoughts are also with those living in fear and danger in conflict zones around the world. #LestWeForget❤️

Vicky also posted a heartfelt message on Sunday, sharing a quote that read: ‘When you return home, speak of us and say, we gave our today for your tomorrow.’

‘We remember. @lucyclaireillustration.’

Meanwhile Amanda shared a picture of a bench adorned with poppies and wrote: ‘Lest we forget…’

Katie Piper also paid tribute, sharing a quote on her Instagram Story.

It read: ‘At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We shall remember them.’

Bear Grylls, a former SAS trooper, along with Tess Daly, Vernon Kay, and Kate Lawler, were among other celebrities who paid tribute.

As a long-time observer of inspiring figures, I was so pleased to hear about Sir David’s recent knighthood! It’s truly deserved recognition for his incredible contributions – not just to the world of sports, particularly football where he made a real difference over two decades, but also for his fantastic work with UNICEF. He’s become a wonderful ambassador, and it’s heartwarming to see his dedication celebrated in this way.

The King awarded the former footballer a knighthood at Windsor Castle in recognition of his contributions to both sports and charitable work. His sons were quick to congratulate him.

A family friend, Gordon, happily hosted a dinner party on Tuesday as a gift for his close friend in London, according to a source close to the family who spoke with the Daily Mail.

A close friend of David’s, Gordon, decided to celebrate him with a fantastic dinner, according to a source.

‘David was there, their kids, his sisters, parents and Victoria’s mum and dad.’

David and Victoria were joined by three of their four children – Romeo, Cruz, and Harper – along with other family members.

David Beckham’s oldest son, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola, 30, didn’t participate in the celebrations and haven’t publicly congratulated him on social media.

Their silence is just the latest slight after months of family feuding.

When his father received news of his knighthood in the spring, Brooklyn didn’t offer any congratulations, either in person or online. In contrast, his two brothers excitedly shared the news on social media.

Brooklyn reportedly grew distant from his family, especially after missing his father’s 50th birthday party in May.

Nicola Peltz shared a video showing a relaxed Brooklyn Beckham shortly after fans criticized him for not attending his father’s knighting ceremony.

After David received his knighthood on Tuesday, the couple didn’t say anything publicly. However, two days later, Nicola shared a video of David online, captioning it ‘the vibe he brings to the function’ – seemingly referencing his decision to skip his father’s celebratory event.

The video, first shared by Cloud 23, a hot sauce company based in Brooklyn, shows him confidently displaying two bottles of their sauce.

For a quick 12-second promotional video, he walked down a New York City street wearing black pants, a grey zip-up hoodie, and a backwards cap.

Although Brooklyn didn’t mention the occasion on social media, people close to the situation say he also didn’t personally congratulate his father.

People left numerous comments on Brooklyn’s social media, encouraging him to reconnect with his family and warning him that he might be sorry if he continued to miss important family events.
