Spoilers for Power Book IV: Force season 3 follow
The second season of Power Book IV: Force ended with the start of a silent but growing competition between Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) and Diamond Sampson (Isaac Keys), the leaders of CBI and the Coalition.
When Diamond and Tommy discovered Vic Flynn (Shane Harper) was informing the Feds, they decided he needed to be dealt with. Tommy told Diamond he’d taken care of it, but secretly he kept Vic alive, intending to use him as leverage against the federal agents. He revealed this surprising betrayal to Diamond during the celebration of the CBI taking over as Chicago’s main drug connection, leaving Diamond shocked.
What to Read Next
Given the events of the past seasons, it was natural that season 3 of Force would further explore the conflict between the two main sides.
I just read an interview with Isaac Keys, who plays a big role in Force. He told Digital Spy that season 3 is really going to dive into the friendship between his character, Tommy, and Diamond. Sounds like we’re gonna get a lot more backstory and development there, which I’m really excited about!
Everyone in the ‘Power’ universe—and it’s no accident—is fighting to find their place and gain control. We’re going to continue to see tension and conflict between Tommy and Diamond.

The actor explained the conflict between the Chicago drug dealers, noting that Diamond spent much of the first and second seasons trying to understand Tommy’s character and motivations. He believes several factors contributed to the tension.
Tommy and Diamond share many of the same ambitions, but their conflicts arise from things they don’t discuss – like their romantic interests, family ties, the challenges of their environment, and their individual motivations. It’s a lack of communication about these personal matters that creates problems between them.

Tommy’s stubborn independence clashes with Diamond’s desire to keep the Chicago drug network united. Keys hints at how the leaders of both organizations, CBI and the Coalition, might be able to resolve their continuing disagreements.
These issues could easily be resolved with open and honest communication, but that’s rarely what happens. I think it will be interesting to watch fans react as things unfold, because even the strongest friendships experience disagreements. Conflicts are a natural part of any relationship, and it’s important to work through them to find a resolution.
The main question now is whether Tommy and Diamond can overcome their issues and continue working together, or if external pressures and other people’s agendas will ultimately lead to the end – or the success – of their partnership.
New episodes of Power Book IV: Force season 3 are released every Friday on MGM+ (through Prime Video in the UK) and Starz (in the US).
