Karl Stefanovic has shared a sweet birthday tribute to his Today show co-host Sarah Abo.
Former One Direction member Liam Payne, 51, wished Sarah a happy 40th birthday on Instagram this weekend.
He posted a sweet photo of Sarah hugging Jasmine, Karl’s wife, and their five-year-old daughter, Harper, while they were at the Mount Isa Rodeo.
Captioning the adorable image, Karl said he was ‘humbled’ to know Sarah.
‘She’ll hate this. But who cares,’ he wrote.
I feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing women in my life, women who truly enrich it – like Sarah Abo. It’s a real privilege to know her.

Continuing his sweet tribute, Karl praised Sarah for her resilience and infectious laugh.
‘Your strength through adversity. Your grace and your laugh are glorious,’ he added.
Keep shining, sis! Happy 40th birthday, Sares! You’re amazing – a total rockstar, like Madonna belting out tunes in Chinatown.
Sarah’s post received a lot of positive reactions from her friends and followers, including entertainment personality Richard Wilkins.
‘Très poetic, Old Mate!’ he wrote. ‘Love and respect you so much Sarah…Happy Birthday.’
Karl’s wife Jasmine also chimed in with: ‘Happiest Birthdays Sarsoura. That’s so beautiful Karlos.’
Today sports presenter Danika Mason also offered: ‘A true icon.’
Karl’s tribute was not lost on Sarah, who repaid Karl’s kind words.

Karlos!! You gorgeous man!! Thank you. You know me too well,’ she wrote.
You bring so much happiness into my life – you’re a wonderful friend! I feel lucky to share laughter with you daily. These are truly the best moments, and you always brighten my day – let’s celebrate like Madonna!
Sarah has agreed to a new contract and will continue hosting the popular breakfast show, putting an end to speculation that Samantha Armytage might take her place.
TV Blackbox reported that Sarah has reached an agreement to continue co-hosting the Nine breakfast show with Karl Stefanovic, securing her position on the program.
Last week, Sunday Confidential revealed that Sarah hired celebrity accountant Anthony Bell to negotiate her contract.
Karl and Sarah are on holiday for the Christmas season, but they’ll be back at the Today desk on January 19, 2026.
Samantha will be temporarily taking over for Sarah on Today during the holiday season, it was announced Wednesday.
But fans can rest easy knowing Sarah will be back on Today in the new year, resuming her popular role.

Samantha, age 49 and the host of The Golden Bachelor, will be co-hosting a breakfast radio show with Wippa, a host from Nova radio.
She recently addressed rumours she was set to replace Sarah on the Today show in the new year.
The experienced television personality joined Ben Fordham on 2GB radio in October and addressed rumors about a possible return to morning television.
Oh my god, when I heard her talking, I just knew what was happening! She totally laid it out – someone was deliberately trying to stir up trouble with these stories, leaking things to the press. And then she told me she actually saw Sarah, poor thing, and she’d been there to support her after all the awful headlines came out. It was so clear – a calculated attack, and she was right there for Sarah when she needed it most. I’m telling you, it’s all connected!
‘Sarah’s wonderful… I saw her at Upfronts – at Nine Upfronts – the other night.
‘We gave each other a hug and I said, “Are you okay?”
‘She’s good. Sarah and Karl are fantastic,’ Sam added.
