When Alix Earle learned about her father’s affair in 2008, she was furious with the woman he was having an affair with – the woman who would later become her stepmother. She felt incredibly angry and wanted to confront her.

When she was just eight years old, Earle was led out of her house with her mother, Alisa, and sister, Ashtin, while photographers crowded around, trying to get pictures.

Fast forward some 17 years and Dupré is mother to Earle’s three half siblings.

Earle, a 24-year-old influencer with 4.8 million Instagram followers, has discussed how her relationship with 40-year-old Dupré is going very well.

Things seemed to be going smoothly until last week, when Dupré reportedly embarrassed her well-known stepdaughter in a very public way.

Earle is competing on this season of Dancing with the Stars and is just two episodes away from the finale. However, after receiving a low score from guest judge and professional dancer Cheryl Burke last week, his dance partner, Dupré, made a controversial comment on TikTok, seemingly suggesting Burke use the weight-loss drug Ozempic.

‘She looks weird. Doesn’t even look like her,’ added Dupré, who was watching the show from home.

People quickly criticized Dupré’s comments as harmful and focused on someone’s body, leading her to apologize for being insensitive. However, the apology didn’t fully resolve the issue, and reports suggest the situation revealed underlying family problems.

According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail, the Earles family generally keeps their personal life private, but there’s been increasing friction between Alix and her stepmother, Ashley. The source says Ashley craves attention and often speaks or posts things without considering the consequences, and her recent comments about Cheryl Burke were a clear example of going too far.

According to a source, Alix would have confronted her stepmother right away and explained what was wrong with her actions. While Ashley likely wasn’t happy about having to post an apology, she did so because of Alix. She cares about Alix a lot and wanted to avoid upsetting her.

Even though Dupré apologized, sources say Earle was still very upset by the comments, fearing they might jeopardize her chances of making it to the final of Dancing With The Stars.

The influencer, who first became well-known for her #GetReadyWithMe videos, has been finding the competition particularly challenging.

Just before last week’s Halloween episode of Dancing with the Stars, Earle became upset and cried after leaving practice, sharing with her fans that she was having a hard time learning the dance.

Everyone knows her history, right? Always causing drama, messing with relationships, and… well, let’s just say she’s done things. And now she’s publicly attacking this famous person? It just proves she hasn’t grown up at all! It’s all about getting a reaction, needing the spotlight. Honestly, most people who actually know her don’t take anything she says seriously. It’s just sad, really.

Earl’s life was turned upside down when her father’s affair with Dupré came to light in 2008. 

Months after becoming involved in a scandal with former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, Dupré found herself under FBI investigation. Spitzer was being investigated for spending thousands of dollars on an escort service, and it was revealed that Dupré, then 23 years old, was one of the escorts he had hired.

Following the scandal, Spitzer resigned from his position, and his wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, eventually filed for divorce. They have three daughters together.

In 2013, Dupré married Izabel’s father, and the couple welcomed their daughter. They later had another daughter, Penelope, in 2015, and a son, Thomas, in 2017.

Earle and her older sister, Ashtin, 22, weren’t immediately welcoming to Dupré when their father introduced them. In a 2023 interview on the Hot Mess podcast, they explained that they initially ignored her, refused her gifts, and even played tricks on her.

They remembered a time when they playfully filled her shoes with toothpaste and tricked her by offering a garlic clove made to look like a chocolate-covered strawberry.

Earle explained that they didn’t want anyone to assume their family was instantly happy after their parents’ divorce. It took years of difficult conversations and working through problems to reach the positive place they’re in now, and he’s very thankful they made it through.

They seem like the ideal family, but like everyone else, they face their own challenges. Alix is very concerned with how she appears to others, and this situation would have been incredibly embarrassing for her.
