Watch Stranger Things Season 5’s First 5 Minutes

As a huge Stranger Things fan, I’m so excited – it feels like the wait for Season 5 is almost over! Netflix just dropped the first five minutes, and it was seriously creepy and amazing. It throws you right back into Hawkins and the Upside Down, and revisits a scene we’ve seen before, which definitely hints at what’s coming in this final season. It’s a great way to kick things off and get us ready for the conclusion of the story!

The first five minutes of Stranger Things Season 5 have been released online

I got a sneak peek at the beginning of Stranger Things Season 5, and it’s chilling! Netflix showed the first five minutes during a virtual event. It takes us back to 1983, right after Will Byers went missing, and plunges us into the creepy Upside Down. We see a younger Will – Noah Schnapp looks fantastic digitally de-aged – huddled and scared inside a familiar place, his version of Castle Byers. He’s quietly repeating lyrics from The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go,’ and honestly, it gave me goosebumps. The episode is called ‘The Crawl,’ and it sets a really unsettling tone right from the start.

While Will is singing, strange, growling sounds start, and a Demogorgon bursts through the fort. He manages to shoot at it and briefly runs away, climbing into a tree, but the creature pulls him down and out of sight. The screen goes black, then cuts to a scene in the Upside Down version of the Hawkins Library, where the Demogorgon brings Will to Vecna (played by Jamie Campbell Bower).

Vecna steps out of the darkness, announcing that his plan can finally start. Vines pin Will to the wall, and a tentacle moves towards his mouth, injecting something into him. Vecna softly says, “We’re going to create wonderful things together,” as he touches Will’s forehead with his clawed hand.

Following the events shown in the earlier scenes, the story will return to present-day Hawkins, which is now under military control and closed off. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance nears, a sense of fear and anticipation builds. According to the Duffer brothers, this season starts with a fast pace, unlike previous seasons. They also explained that Hawkins is no longer a normal town, with restricted movement and constant surveillance cameras.

As a huge Stranger Things fan, I’m so excited to share the release plan for the final season! The first four episodes drop on November 26th at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Then, just in time for Christmas, we’ll get another three episodes on December 25th. And to cap it all off, the very last episode will arrive on New Year’s Eve – what a way to end the year!
