Gwyneth Paltrow suffered a rare beauty fail this week while on her way to a high-profile event.

Last Thursday, the 53-year-old Academy Award winner attended the All Raise VC Summit in Half Moon Bay, California, alongside leading venture capitalists from across the United States.

Just before she was scheduled to speak at the conference, Gwyneth Paltrow posted a natural, unfiltered selfie on her Instagram Stories.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s makeup was perfect, but her straight, blonde hair had little flyaways around the part that wouldn’t stay down.

The Iron Man actor shared on social media that they were traveling to Half Moon Bay for the All Raise VC Summit and realized they needed hairspray.

Someone on Gwyneth Paltrow’s beauty team likely noticed she was having a bad hair day, because she quickly reappeared on Instagram with perfectly styled hair.

For the yearly conference, Gwyneth Paltrow wore a stylish all-black ensemble: a turtleneck, skirt, and a thin belt with a small gold buckle.

She accessorized with large glasses, a pricey gold watch and chunky gold rings. 

Before the conference – which takes place November 5th through 7th – she took a quick selfie in her hotel room mirror.

According to its website, the All Raise VC Summit helps investors connect with each other to plan for the future and build lasting relationships within the venture capital world.

Paltrow was one of the featured speakers who appeared on the event’s main stage. 

She leads the venture capital firm Kinship Ventures alongside beauty industry expert Moj Mahdara, and together they’ve built a successful company.

Last year, the Los Angeles-based company said it planned to raise $75 million to fund new businesses in the consumer goods and technology sectors, according to Axios.

Gwyneth Paltrow took a selfie with a fan, Mahdara, while at an event during Thursday’s conference.

Gwyneth Paltrow attended the All Raise VC Summit shortly after flying to New York City to see her son, Moses Martin, perform with his band, People I’ve Met.

She and her ex-husband, Chris Martin, share two children: 19-year-old Apple Martin and her 21-year-old daughter. They famously announced their separation in 2014 with a ‘conscious uncoupling’.

A concert photo posted on Instagram showed Moses significantly taller than his mother and her friends, including author Amy Griffin, actress Demi Moore, and producer Sara Foster.

Gwyneth Paltrow called the evening ‘an unforgettable night in New York City,’ highlighted by a dinner with friends at The Eighty Six steakhouse in the West Village.

Moses is balancing his studies as a sophomore at Brown University with pursuing a career that follows in the successful path of his famous father.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple, is pursuing both modeling and a law degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

After her divorce from Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow found love again with Brad Falchuk, who is known for creating the TV shows Glee and American Horror Story.

Paltrow admitted if she could, she would do things differently. 

Looking back, I realize I should have started treating my stepchildren like my own children much sooner. I spent too much time worrying about not hurting anyone’s feelings, and that probably held me back.
