Stranger Things Creators on if Eleven & Others Will Return in Spin-Offs

The fifth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things will be the show’s last, but viewers are eager to know if the story could continue with spin-offs. The creators recently shared some news about whether Eleven and her friends might return in future projects.

The Duffer Brothers reveal if Eleven and her friends will be in Stranger Things live-action spin-offs

Ross Duffer, one of the creators of Stranger Things, has confirmed that Season 5 will be the final season. He told SFX Magazine that the show will wrap up the stories of all the beloved characters – like Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Steve – as well as the town of Hawkins, after starting in 2016. Matt Duffer, who created the show with his brother, agreed, explaining that continuing the story would lessen the emotional impact of the ending. He stated they feel the story has reached a natural conclusion and doesn’t need to be extended. This confirms that there are currently no plans for any further live-action series set in the world of Stranger Things, either in Hawkins or the Upside Down.

The show’s creators have also made it clear they won’t revisit the story with a cast reunion years down the line. Ross Duffer explained they don’t want a future scenario where characters need to rely on someone from the past to fix a new problem. They’re dedicated to letting the story end as it does and won’t create anything that contradicts or diminishes that ending.

Matt Duffer playfully suggested to the cast that they might revisit the show in 20 years if their careers didn’t pan out, joking about another portal opening to the Upside Down. However, he quickly clarified that this was just a joke and they have no serious plans to continue the story. He stated they’ve already told all they wanted to about those characters and that world.

Season 5 will come out in three parts, with Volume 1 releasing on November 26.
