Earlier this year, 27-year-old actress Sydney Sweeney caused a lot of online discussion when a denim brand launched an advertising campaign that playfully referenced both her good looks and good genes.

The ad started with a playful message, but it soon caused a strong negative reaction online. Critics claimed it supported ideas of ‘white supremacy,’ ‘eugenics,’ and even ‘Nazism,’ leading to widespread outrage.

The criticism grew stronger after it was revealed the actress is a registered Republican, sparking further outrage online, especially from those focused on social and political issues.

Sydney Sweeney recently gave a GQ interview where she avoided apologizing for past comments, which resonated positively with members of the MAGA community and other right-wing groups.

She recently starred in a jeans advertisement, and the public’s reaction was unexpected. However, she’s a big fan of jeans, saying she practically lives in them – wearing jeans and a T-shirt every single day. She didn’t seem concerned by any negative feedback.

People criticized Sweeney for wearing a low-cut dress while giving a speech about strength and taking control of your life, finding it contradictory.

She’s faced criticism in the past, most recently in 2022 when she shared photos from her mother’s 60th birthday party. The photos showed family members wearing hats with the slogan ‘Make Sixty Great Again’ and shirts supporting ‘Blue Lives Matter,’ which sparked a negative reaction.

Sweeney tweeted that the reaction to her mother’s 60th birthday celebration was unexpected. She explained that what began as a personal and joyful event had somehow been twisted into a political issue, which wasn’t what she intended at all.

‘Please stop making assumptions.’

She later explained to GQ UK that she felt unable to contribute constructively to the ongoing discussion, describing it as having spiraled out of control and beyond repair.
