So, I just heard about this special, One Wonderful Night, and it was actually filmed at the Dolby Theatre in LA! From what I’ve seen, it’s promising some seriously awesome musical performances – think big dance numbers and everything backed by a huge, 37-piece live orchestra. It sounds like it’s going to be epic!

This special is being released before the last movie in the Wicked series, Wicked: For Good, which is already receiving a lot of positive attention from critics.

Early reviews of the movie are overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it surprisingly excellent and a musical triumph. Some reviewers say it completely lives up to the hype, and a few even describe the new songs as profoundly moving.

Chu recently revealed that he removed a flashback scene from the beginning of For Good – it had originally shown a recap of ‘Defying Gravity’ from the first film.

He remembered a test screening and told Collider that they realized a flashback wasn’t necessary. He initially thought audiences needed a reminder of the characters’ past relationship before seeing their current, separated dynamic, but the screening proved otherwise. Viewers were already invested and ready to jump into the story without it.

Wicked: For Good is released in cinemas on 21 November.
