Sally Lindsay’s beloved British cosy crime drama gets first look at “extraordinary” special return

Fans of Sally Lindsay’s mystery series are getting a sneak peek at the upcoming Christmas special. The Madame Blanc Mysteries will be back next month with a new episode where detective Jean White finds herself in a surprisingly unusual predicament.

A special, full-length episode of the popular series will follow Jean, Dom Hayes (played by Steve Edge), Judith Lloyd James (Sue Holderness), and her husband Jeremy (Robin Askwith) as they go to a fancy Christmas Eve party at the Musée de Sainte Victoire.

The story follows Jean, who is asked to verify the authenticity of a valuable antique – an ornate Ormolu box that once belonged to Marie Antoinette. However, the festive Christmas atmosphere takes a dangerous turn when Jean finds a bomb concealed within the box.

The museum is locked down and a security guard is dead – the bomb will explode in just 90 minutes! Jean and her team have to solve a code and disarm the bomb before it’s too late. This is her most dangerous mission yet – will she be able to stop it?

New photos from the upcoming episode have been revealed, featuring Lindsay and the rest of the cast in a holiday environment that promises both celebration and danger.

I’m so excited for the new episode! Lindsay said it’s going to be a tribute to a beloved Christmas movie, but it’s also a completely original story. Apparently, all our favorite characters will be thrown into a really wild situation, which sounds amazing!

She described the project as incredibly ambitious, but expressed immense excitement with the final result. She eagerly anticipates fans seeing it and extended a Merry Christmas greeting from everyone at Ste. Victoire.

Alex Gaumond returns as police chief André Caron, with Sue Vincent as Gloria Beaushaw and Tony Robinson as Uncle Patrick, joining Lindsay and the rest of the original cast.

I’m so excited to hear that John Thomson, who I loved in Cold Feet, Kacey Ainsworth from Grantchester, Raji James from Hollyoaks, and Manjinder Virk, who was great in Trigger Point, are all joining the cast! It’s going to be amazing to see them all together.

The holiday special was announced in July and will be the show’s fourth. These specials usually air after the regular season has finished.

Fans can now watch the first three seasons of The Madame Blanc Mysteries on Netflix, as it became available on the streaming service earlier this year.

Fans of The Madame Blanc Mysteries can look forward to a Christmas special airing this December on Channel 5. All four seasons are currently available to stream on 5, and the first three seasons are also available on Netflix.

The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can find Ariana & Witches at all good newsagents or online for only £8.99.
