Getting excited for the Grammy Awards in February? The list of nominees will be revealed very soon!
This Friday, the Recording Academy will reveal the nominees for the biggest music awards show in a live online event, and some well-known artists will be helping with the announcement.
Here’s everything you need to know about the announcement.

Music
Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, and Bad Bunny are all expected to be nominated for Grammy Awards when the nominations are revealed on Friday.
How can I watch?
The livestream starts this Friday at 8 a.m. Pacific Time on the Grammys website and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel. If you want to watch on another platform, you can always use a screencasting service.
The Grammys website says the livestream will likely last around 30 minutes, but the exact schedule could change.
Who is presenting?
The Grammy Awards ceremony will feature a mix of past winners and nominees, special guests, and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. Several of this year’s presenters – including Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Sabrina Carpenter – are also expected to be contenders for awards themselves.

Music
The Recording Academy has already given over $4 million to musicians impacted by the recent fires, and they plan to raise even more money at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
Here are the rest of the presenters:
Here’s a list of artists and personalities: Angélique Kidjo, Brandi Carlile, CeCe Winans, David Foster, Chelsey Green, Gayle King, Jon Batiste, Karol G, Little Big Town, Lizzo, Masaki Koike, Mumford & Sons, Nicole Scherzinger, and Sam Smith.
What awards are being announced?
The Grammy Awards will announce this year’s nominees across all 95 categories, including the two recently added ones for Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album.
The recent change has sparked debate. Some believe it unfairly prevents artists of color from being recognized, especially after Beyoncé won a country album award for “Cowboy Carter.” Others see it as a necessary update that allows for a wider range of country music artists to be considered.

Music
Beyoncé’s victory with ‘Cowboy Carter’ reveals as much about the Recording Academy’s choices as it does about her artistry.
When the news was shared in June, Mason Jr. explained that this year’s new categories were important changes, making sure that everyone involved in creating music gets the recognition they deserve and a chance to be honored at the biggest music event of the year.
When are the Grammys?
The 68th annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 1st at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. You can watch it live on CBS, or stream it live and later on demand through Paramount+.
What’s different this year?
With Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Billie Eilish skipping album submissions this year, the awards competition is shaping up to be surprisingly unpredictable and potentially very exciting.
I’m really excited to see how new platforms are helping talented, but lesser-known artists finally get the recognition they deserve. It feels like a fresh wave of creativity is breaking through because of these new avenues.

Music
Billie Eilish delivered a standout performance at the 2020 Grammy Awards, but the recent passing of Kobe Bryant cast a somber mood over the event.
For the first time, young music professionals aged 18-29 – members of the Recording Academy’s Grammy U program – were able to submit their choices for Grammy nominations. This gives up-and-coming artists a better chance than ever to gain recognition, thanks to the fresh perspectives of these younger voters.
Honestly, it’s exciting to see the Recording Academy really trying to evolve! They’re bringing in a whole bunch of new voters, and even including people from the Latin Recording Academy, which feels like a great step towards a more diverse and representative group making decisions about music.
As a longtime follower of the Latin Recording Academy, I was really excited to hear they’ve added so many new voting members! It just reinforces what I’ve always believed – music truly transcends borders. It’s clear the Academy is more dedicated than ever to supporting musicians from all over the world. I’m personally looking forward to seeing all the hard work and passion of our members reflected in this year’s nominations – I think it’s going to be a fantastic year!
