Hollywood star Russell Crowe has revealed details about his stunning weight loss.
Russell Crowe, the actor known for ‘Gladiator,’ revealed on the Joe Rogan podcast that he’s lost 57 pounds over the past year.
He shared that he still occasionally enjoys a drink, but he’s significantly reduced how much alcohol he consumes.
During their conversation, the actor revealed that he weighed 126 kilograms after finishing his most recent movie, Nuremberg.
‘I’m 100.9 now,’ he said, clearly pleased with his new look.
Crowe said he was assisted in his transformation by health services platform Way2Well.
Russell Crowe, known for his role in ‘A Beautiful Mind,’ recently shared that he’s been getting injections to help manage injuries he’s accumulated from performing physically demanding roles over the years as part of a health and wellness routine.
He explained that while he doesn’t fully understand the science behind it, he’s found relief from inflammation in his shoulders, knees, and through IV treatments.
During the conversation, Crowe explained he’d been drinking less after Rogan questioned whether alcohol or gambling was more addictive.
Crowe pointed out that our society accepts both drinking and gambling as normal activities, but rarely considers the harm they can cause.
He said with a laugh, ‘Look, having a drink is part of who I am – it’s how I was raised, and honestly, as a working man, I think I’ve earned it.’
‘But as you get older, there are certain things you start to learn about your capacities.’
Crowe said that as an older man, one night a week of ‘fun’ was ‘plenty’.
‘If I decide to have a glass of wine with dinner, it’s going to be a really nice wine,’ he said.
‘I try not to have casual drinks, now. [As in] having a drink for the sake of it.’
This follows Russell Crowe discussing his relationship with his girlfriend, Britney Theriot, in an interview on 60 Minutes.
In a surprisingly open conversation with Karl Stefanovic, the Academy Award-winning actor denied rumors that he was planning to marry his partner of five years, who is 33 years old.
The father of two, who is divorced from singer Danielle Spencer, has stated he doesn’t plan to get married again.
He firmly denied the reports that he and Britney are engaged and planning another wedding, stating simply, ‘No.’
‘My life is joyous and happy, why ruin that with a wedding?’ the Oscar-winner joked.
Russell shared personal stories about his relationship with his American girlfriend, describing them as close friends who have a great connection.
He said they have a happy relationship built on mutual respect and positivity, enjoying everything life has to offer as a team.
Russell Crowe and his partner, Britney Theriot, recently had a romantic evening together at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
The couple hit the red carpet premiere for Nuremberg, with the two putting on a cozy display.
The historical drama is based on Jack El-Hai’s 2013 nonfiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist.
Russell played Hermann Göring, a leading Nazi official who was tried for war crimes at the Nuremberg Trials in 1945.
His recent work is generating Oscar talk, and could earn him another nomination for the first time since he was nominated for Best Actor in 2002 for his role in A Beautiful Mind.
