Ryan Reynolds offends entire STATE with elitist jab about boxed wine

Ryan Reynolds jokingly suggested people in Minnesota would appreciate his new boxed wine more than those on the East Coast, and it seems his comment has ruffled some feathers in the state.

Ryan Reynolds, known for playing Deadpool, recently explained his choice to release his new, affordable boxed wine, Ugly Estates, only in Minnesota. However, instead of being well-received, his comments were criticized by many Minnesotans who felt he was being disrespectful towards the state and its people.

Reynolds explained that boxed wine would likely be more popular in places known for a relaxed, practical attitude. He suggested that while it might not be a hit in a sophisticated location like Martha’s Vineyard, Minnesotans would definitely appreciate it.

Despite his best efforts to woo Midwesterners, locals didn’t find the remarks cute or  endearing.

One Instagram user jokingly scolded Ryan, pointing out that most wine drinkers prefer bottles over boxed wine.

Reynolds surprisingly referred to Minnesota as an ‘underdog’ despite it being ranked fourth best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. He playfully described Minnesotans as creative people who bond and find humor in the harsh winters, joking that their wit comes from simply trying to stay warm.

‘So apparently we drink boxed wine and laugh because we’re cold,’ one commenter scoffed.

Ryan Reynolds, known for his Aviation Gin brand, jokingly adopted a stereotypical Minnesota accent and made a reference to the movie Fargo, despite admitting he’s only been to the state a couple of times.

Ryan Reynolds, who is from Canada, says people often tease Canadian and Minnesotan accents, exaggerating them for laughs. He admitted that when he watches shows like ‘Fargo,’ he doesn’t perceive the accent the way others do, saying it just sounds like his mother’s normal way of speaking.

In response, one Instagram user shot back: ‘I know no one that speaks like that here.’

Reynolds described his wine as surprisingly good despite being inexpensive. He explained that the brand embraces a playful, slightly rebellious attitude.

Still, Minnesotans weren’t laughing.

Someone questioned what the speaker was trying to communicate, calling the marketing approach very strange and wondering who they thought they were appealing to.

Another wrote: ‘He thinks Minnesotans are cheap and lack taste.’

‘Did he and Blake not get the memo that they’re canceled?!? BYE!!’ a third fired.

A fourth critic chimed in to comment: ‘As a Minnesota resident… I’ll pass.’

One frustrated resident pleaded with others to ignore him, stating that any attention, even negative, is exactly what he’s seeking.

The Daily Mail has contacted both Reynolds and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, but they haven’t received a response yet.

Reynolds hasn’t said anything publicly about the criticism, and hasn’t shared the Star Tribune interview on her social media accounts.

With a population of 5.793 million, Minnesota has produced many famous people, including Prince, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, and Bob Dylan.
