The mystery drama A Mother’s Son, starring Martin Clunes and Nicola Walker, is gaining popularity on Netflix after being added to the streaming service just a few days ago. It’s being compared to the hit show Broadchurch.
The new six-episode series, which viewers have praised for its strong performances, became available on Netflix over the weekend and quickly rose to number two on the platform’s top 10 list.
This British mystery thriller, similar to the show Broadchurch, takes place in a quiet town in Suffolk that’s been disturbed by the murder of a young schoolgirl named Lorraine Mullary, played by Juliet York.

The show follows Nathan Williams (played by Martin Clunes), a farmer and family man who has worked the same land for generations. Still mourning the loss of his wife, Sabine, who died two years ago, Nathan finds himself stuck in a repetitive cycle of work and sadness.
But the father’s fantasy life is shattered when his teenage son, Johnny, gets mixed up with a dangerous local gang. Nathan, feeling helpless and full of energy, is in a unique position to fight back and protect his son from the escalating threat.
