Peter Parker, a generally unlucky and unassuming guy, has actually had quite a few girlfriends throughout his adventures. While he’s been with many, his most well-known relationships are with Mary Jane Watson and Felicia Hardy, also known as Black Cat. Interestingly, the Amazing Spider-Man appears to have found a new romantic interest during his recent travels in space.
Amazing Spider-Man #15, written by Joe Kelly and illustrated by Emilio Laiso, picks up Peter Parker’s story in outer space. After his fight with Hellgate left him stranded, Spider-Man met a helpful alien scientist who offered him a ride home – and a way to boost his powers while they traveled.
Peter quickly learned the scientist was experimenting on people (and creatures) against their will, including Rocket Raccoon. This led to a rebellion, and Spider-Man unexpectedly became the leader of a ragtag group. Plus, after his most recent escapade, it looks like he’s found someone special.
Who is Spider-Man’s new flame?
In the latest issue of Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker meets Raelith, a warrior from a previously unknown alien race called the Wretched. Little is known about the Wretched, but they seem to prefer inflicting pain on their enemies rather than simply killing them. This creates a strong conflict with Spider-Man, who always tries to avoid harming others whenever possible.
Even though she seemed uninterested (or maybe because she did), Raelith found herself drawn to Spider-Man. The comic concludes with them sharing a passionate kiss, and Peter completely forgetting about any romantic relationships back on Earth. This is notable because Peter had recently been seeing a nurse named Shay Marken before the fight at Hellgate, and there were also suggestions that he and Black Cat were starting to reconnect.
It appears Spider-Man’s thoughts or memories are being changed, as his strong sense of guilt is usually unwavering, even with all his misfortune. For the moment, though, he’s found a new romantic interest.
