Kate Ferdinand shows off her jaw-dropping figure in a polka dot bikini as she cuddles husband Rio on the beach in Dubai – as the footballer slams the UK tax system and reveals why they moved to the UAE

Kate Ferdinand looked stunning in a polka dot bikini while enjoying a beach day with her husband, Rio, in Dubai.

The 34-year-old reality TV star and her 46-year-old husband, a professional footballer, moved from southeast London to the United Arab Emirates in August, trading their usual life for a sunny desert environment.

Following their relocation, Rio has slammed the UK tax system and revealed why they made the move.

Kate has been sharing glimpses of their family’s new life on Instagram, posting photos of them enjoying time together at the beach.

Other snaps showed them spending time with close family friends who came to visit over half term.

The TV star shared a recent photo with a heartfelt message: ‘Enjoying precious moments with loved ones, wishing our sons could be here too.’

According to the Daily Mail, the couple recently purchased a home in the upscale, private community of Al Barari. The luxurious property was listed for 32.5 million dirhams (approximately £6.55 million) in April.

In a recent interview, Rio criticized the UK’s tax system, suggesting it might be driving more people to leave the country.

The family’s relocation happens shortly after Chancellor Rachel Reeves revealed plans for £40 billion in tax increases targeting businesses and high-income earners in her 2024 Budget. These changes include higher taxes on capital gains, inheritance, and private school tuition.

On LBC Radio, Manchester United and England icon Sir Bobby Charlton explained why he believes tax rules affecting UK residents aren’t helping ordinary people.

Rio believes people wouldn’t object to paying taxes if essential services, like healthcare, were running smoothly and effectively.

When things in the country are difficult and not working well, I often wonder if our taxes are actually being used to help the people who live here.

‘And that’s the big question that needs answering. I think a lot of us know the answer to that.’

Although the footballer didn’t say it was the main reason for moving to the United Arab Emirates, he did mention that the move has given him more quality time with his family.

He added that he’s been seeing his family more often and enjoying valuable time with them, which has been really positive for him.

I’m proud to be English, but I’m excited about starting a new adventure and a fresh phase in my life.

Ferdinand, who recently left TNT Sports in May, explained his decision in an interview with The National. He said he realized he’d been missing the Global Soccer Awards – an event he used to attend regularly – for around seven or eight years, and attending it at Christmas made him reflect on things.

I got to know Kate’s friends who lived in the area, and it really opened my eyes to a whole new perspective. Plus, I run a business called Football Escapes out there, so I’ve spent a good amount of time getting to know the place personally.

Dubai offers a lifestyle where families feel valued and kids thrive. People enjoy a happy, energetic environment thanks to the city’s safety, pleasant weather, and the opportunity for a fresh start.

I was ready for a change. For the past decade, my life revolved around my work with TV broadcasting after retiring from playing. When I decided to step down, I realized how much of my life – almost 30 years – had been dictated by the schedule of games. But now, things are different. I’m still involved in football, but it no longer controls my life, and honestly, it feels good to have that freedom.

Rio Ferdinand shares two young children, four-year-old Cree and two-year-old Shae, with his wife Kate. Kate is also a stepmother to Rio’s three teenage children – Lorenz, 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 14 – from his previous marriage to Rebecca Ellison. His two eldest sons, Lorenz and Tate, currently live in England where they play for Brighton and Hove Albion.
