Tori Spelling is sharing details about her recent divorce from Dean McDermott, including audio of her telling him the news, on her podcast, ‘misSPELLING.’

Actress Tori Spelling and actor Dean McDermott, after 17 years together, are getting divorced. They separated in June 2023, and Spelling officially filed for divorce in March 2024, stating they had differences that couldn’t be resolved. The couple, who married in May 2006, have five children – Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau – ranging in age from 8 to 18. In her divorce filing, Spelling asked for primary physical custody of the children, while requesting McDermott have joint legal custody and visitation rights.

Tori Spelling recently opened up on her podcast, “misSPELLING,” about her decision to divorce Dean McDermott. She explained she was worried the split would become very hostile and looked back on how their relationship lasted despite many people doubting it from the start. Both Spelling and McDermott had been married before – Spelling to actor Charlie Shanian, and McDermott to actor-singer Mary Jo Eustace.

People didn’t think our relationship would last, predicting it would end within six months. But we actually made it for 18 years, which is surprising, even to him, I think. If we’d really talked honestly with each other, it probably would have ended much sooner.

Halle Bailey and her former boyfriend, rapper DDG, have agreed to pause their disagreements in their ongoing dispute over their son, Halo.

In the podcast, she discussed the difficulties in their relationship, mentioning warning signs she’d noticed and how she continued with the marriage even after seeing them.

Shortly after news of their split became public, McDermott openly discussed his marriage to Spelling.

He told the Daily Mail in November 2023 that all Tori ever wanted was for him to be happy and healthy, but he caused her a lot of pain. He feels he needs to spend the rest of his life trying to make things right, because he ruined something truly beautiful through years of hurtful behavior.

Despite their divorce, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott appear to have stayed on good terms. Spelling recently told People magazine they are still “good friends” and that McDermott continues to be a strong source of support for her. She also publicly acknowledged him on Father’s Day earlier this year.

“Happy Father’s Day to my baby daddy and rad co- parent,” she captioned a pair of family photos.
