During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live! with Andy Cohen, Thompson was asked to share her ranking of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films she’s been in, from best to worst.
You know, when someone asks me my favorite movies, I always say Thor: Ragnarok first. Then, Thor: Love and Thunder really sticks with me, and honestly, Avengers: Endgame too. I’m probably going to get some flak for saying that Endgame is up there, but it just really hit me emotionally, you know?
Fans often debate which Marvel Cinematic Universe film is the best, with titles like Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame frequently mentioned. However, it’s surprising to see Thor: Love and Thunder also appearing in those discussions, as it wasn’t as popular with audiences or critics. The film, directed by Taika Waititi, received mixed reviews and currently holds a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite the criticisms, the movie was still a financial success, earning approximately $760.9 million globally. This made it the eighth-highest-grossing film of the year 2022.
It’s currently unknown if Thompson will reprise her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her name wasn’t included in the first announcement of the cast for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ set to release in December 2026. While she could still appear in that film or its follow-up, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ there’s been no official confirmation.
Thompson is currently starring in Hedda, a film now streaming on Prime Video. Directed and written by Nia DaCosta, the movie is an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler and features Nina Hoss, Imogen Poots, and Tom Bateman alongside Thompson.
