Kim Kardashian is torched for her ‘monotone’ and ‘stiff’ acting in All’s Fair premiere episode

I just finished watching the first episode of Ryan Murphy’s new show, ‘All’s Fair,’ and I was really surprised by Kim Kardashian’s performance! While I thought she did a pretty good job stepping into an acting role, it seems like not everyone agrees – a lot of fans weren’t as impressed as I was.

The 45-year-old reality TV star, now an actress, plays Allura Grant, a successful divorce lawyer, in the new show. The series centers around a group of female lawyers who decide to start their own firm after leaving a company where men held most of the power.

The show features a talented cast of well-known actors, including Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, and Niecy Nash.

After seeing the first episode, a lot of viewers were confused about Kim having such a large part in a show with already-famous and highly-regarded actresses.

Viewers described her acting as unnatural and lacking emotion. One person on X (formerly Twitter) commented that Kim Kardashian doesn’t have acting talent and should avoid touching her face during scenes.

‘Lmao Kim is so monotone I can’t,’ another wrote.

‘Trying to watch All’s Fair but I cant with Kim Kardashian,’ another added.

‘All those amazing actors and Ryan Murphy puts Kim Kardashian in it too…. WTAF?????#AllsFair’

‘Why is she so stiff?’ one questioned.

‘Need to understand why Ryan Murphy entertains Kim Kardashians acting career.’

One viewer felt casting Kim Kardashian was a major misstep for the show, arguing her lack of acting ability immediately clashes with the show’s overall feel. They expressed strong disapproval, repeatedly questioning the decision.

‘Damn Kim K really can’t act lol, she’s so monotone… you can tell she’s acting nth comes natural.’

The episode began with Kim portraying Allura and Naomi, who plays Liberty Ronson, in a scene set ten years earlier. They both expressed their annoyance with the lack of respect women often face in law firms run by men.

Glenn, the actress who plays Dina Standish, happened to hear their talk and then revealed her own experience, telling them, ‘Before I started working with you, I was the only woman on staff.’

Things are different now. I just want you to start your own company, and please, don’t join another one in this building,” she told them.

‘That’s what we want, our own boutique,’ Allura tells her.

‘Women representing women, only,’ Liberty chimes in.

Dina lets them bring along either a lawyer or someone from her staff. They choose Niecy, the actress who plays Emerald Greene.

Emerald was reluctant to agree, but Allura assured her she’d become a full partner and earn millions within two years.

They then bump into Paulson, who stars as Carrington Lane.

She’s upset they didn’t invite her along, especially since she billed more hours than anyone else.

Liberty tells her it was because she ‘never learned to be human.’

Carrington proceeds to have a shouting match with Dina, screaming that she is ‘the hardest worker.’

Carrington announced she was starting her own company, but Dina dismissed the idea, telling her to be realistic.

Carrington warns Dina that she’ll soon discover the consequences of crossing him.

The episode jumps ahead to the present day, showing Allura arriving at her beautiful home. We see a chef getting her dinner ready.

Afterward, I watched her get ready – a quick shower, and then she slipped into this absolutely stunning white dress! It was so glamorous, and clearly meant for her dinner date with her husband, Chase Munroe – Matthew Noszka plays him, and they looked incredible together.

‘Hi, you’re late,’ she tells him, as he walks in.

‘Oh sh*t. What did I forget?’ he asks.

She tells him it’s their anniversary.

‘F**k me raw. Baby, I’m so sorry,’ he tells her, adding he forgot because it’s ‘football season.’

‘Aren’t you glad I have a healthy ego? If not, I’d take this personally,’ she tells him.

He walked towards her and confessed, “I’m so sorry. I should have given you this earlier.” He opened a small box, revealing a beautiful diamond ring.

‘Oh my God, didn’t this belong to Elizabeth Taylor?’ she asks.

‘I know how much you love her,’ he tells her, ‘Even though I have no idea who she is.’

He then tells her, ‘Happy anniversary baby. Come to Daddy.’

Allura then straddles him as they share a steamy kiss.

The scene then shifts to Allura, Liberty, and Emerald as they celebrate the tenth anniversary of their successful business.

Teyana Taylor, playing legal assistant Milan, then delivers a strange edible arrangement – it turns out to be a gift from Carrington.

It features a mean-spirited message from her, where she brags about her successes and mocks the other women.

Allura supports Milan’s dream of becoming a lawyer and offers to help her with her studies.

Liberty then welcomes their new client, Grace Henry (Grace Gummer), who came to Hollywood hoping to make it as an actress.

However she ended up being a trophy wife to a billionaire tech titan named Lionel Lee.

The women are concerned that the divorce settlement doesn’t seem right, as Grace isn’t requesting much.

Just as she leaves, Milan receives a text from Allura’s husband, Chase. It says, ‘I can still smell you on me…’

The ladies then meet with Grace and question why she’s asking for so little.

She says she feels she deserves this happiness. She shared with her friends that her husband, Lionel, suggested they explore an open relationship, and through that, she unexpectedly fell in love with another woman.

I was so relieved when her lawyers – a fantastic team of women – explained that she hadn’t done anything wrong at all. They really believed she deserved a far better settlement in the divorce, and I completely agreed. It gave me so much hope that she’d finally get what she deserved.

Liberty then gets a frantic call from a Mrs. Baskin, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh.

She’s traveling to see her, as her husband is trying to evict her after discovering she was unfaithful.

Liberty assisted her in leaving the house and taking her valuable jewelry, which her husband had been attempting to keep her from taking.

Liberty and Allura later investigate Grace’s husband and discover some unusual details about his personal life.

The lawyers then spoke with Grace and her husband, who had been living separately. When they presented their findings to him, he immediately agreed to pay Grace the amount she requested.

Allura’s celebration doesn’t last long. Upon returning home, she discovers her husband is unhappy with their relationship.

She tells him she’s ‘confused’ and he tells her he ‘can’t f*****g breathe in this perfect house.’

She asks him if he’s having a midlife crisis, and he tells her he is ‘drowning’ with her.

He goes on to say that he feels ‘hopelessly and ridiculously small’ next to her.

He claims she manipulated him emotionally, and then told her he wants a divorce and is now dating someone new.

At the end of the episode Allura’s pals Liberty and Emerald come to comfort her.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Allura just revealed the most heartbreaking thing! She said she’s always been terrified Chase would ditch her for someone younger. Can you believe it? She’s ten years older than him, and it’s clearly been weighing on her mind all this time! It’s so sad, but honestly, it just makes me love her even more. She’s so vulnerable, and I just want to tell her Chase is crazy if he’d ever leave her!

She then questions: ‘Are the best years behind me?’

‘No! F**k no. The best is yet to come,’ Liberty tells her.

Emerald tells her she has bad taste in men and likes ‘rough trade.’

Allura questions if she has low self esteem, but her pals comfort her.

The episode ends with Allura’s husband going to see Milan.

As they shared a passionate kiss she asks him, ‘You think she knows?’

‘Not yet,’ he replies.

‘She’s gonna make it her missions to know,’ Milan says.

‘Yeah. Well, in the words of Allura Grant, all’s fair in love and war,’ he states.

The series ‘All’s Fair’ was initially revealed in December, marking the first project developed under Murphy’s new agreement with Disney.

The show seems to have taken some inspiration from Laura Wasser, who was actually Kim Kardashian’s lawyer during her divorces from Kanye West and Kris Humphries.

Jon Robin Baitz, known for his work on shows like ‘Brothers & Sisters’ and ‘Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans,’ co-created ‘All’s Fair’ with Joe Baken.

Kim Kardashian, along with her mother and manager Kris Jenner, and actor Eddie Murphy, will serve as executive producers on the project. They’ll be joined by writers Jamie Pachino, Laura Greene, and Richard Levine, who will also hold executive producer roles, alongside Baitz and Baken.

Close will also be an executive producer on the project, joining Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson.

Kardashian is also currently pursuing a legal career in real life.

The show’s first three episodes are now streaming on Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+.
