Sydney Sweeney recently offered a first glimpse into the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria, the show that launched her to stardom with her role as Cassie Howard.
The 28-year-old Emmy nominee explained on Tuesday’s Good Morning America that she had finished filming her part of the show just a few days ago. The delay in new seasons was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent strikes by writers and actors, which lasted for a long time.
When a fan asked about what to expect in the new season, Sydney Sweeney was intentionally vague, simply stating, ‘It’s about God.’
After a moment of surprise, she explained that some people will turn to religion, and others will need it for support.
The star of ‘Anyone But You’ smiled playfully as the news anchors looked shocked. Sam Champion even confessed he never could have predicted that moment.
‘Honestly, same!’ Sweeney replied with a laugh.

The founder of Fifty-Fifty Films also talked about getting the lead role of Christy Martin in her new movie, Christy, which comes out this Friday.
Even though Sweeney has trained in mixed martial arts since she was a teenager, she surprisingly hadn’t heard of the world champion boxer.
Inspired by Martin’s story of overcoming domestic abuse and breaking down barriers for women, the performer was determined to join the film project in any capacity.
Sweeney recalled that during her initial Zoom meeting with the director, she was immediately determined to work on the project. She was driven by a desire to help share the story, believing, as Christy put it, that it could potentially save lives.
She prepared for the part by transforming her grandmother’s Idaho garage into a boxing gym reminiscent of the movie Rocky, and she purposefully gained 36 pounds.
She shared that her previous diet consisted of a lot of fast food from Chick-fil-A, plus plenty of Smucker’s brand products, milkshakes, and protein shakes.
This week Sweeney also broke her silence on her American Eagle jeans commercial controversy.
The actress appeared in a popular jeans advertisement over the summer that caused a huge reaction on social media.

The advertisement, called ‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,’ featured the actress fastening a pair of jeans and making a lighthearted joke about ‘genes’.
Traits like hair color, personality, and eye color are often inherited from your parents through genes. “And speaking of genes,” she added with a smile, “my jeans are blue!”
The campaign immediately sparked outrage when it launched in July. Many social media users criticized it as racist and reminiscent of eugenics, pointing to the featured model’s blonde hair and blue eyes as the reason for their concerns.
Sydney Sweeney recently shared with GQ that she starred in a jeans advertisement and was surprised by the public’s reaction. She confessed she’s a huge fan of jeans, saying she practically lives in them – wearing jeans and a T-shirt every single day.

When asked her response to Trump speaking about the ad, Sweeney described the moment as ‘surreal’.
‘I kind of just put my phone away,’ she continued.
I was filming constantly. While working on Euphoria, I often had 16-hour days, and I usually leave my phone off set. That meant I’d work, then go straight home and sleep.
‘So I didn’t really see a lot of it.’
