Now that Halloween’s over and it’s starting to get chilly, I’m already getting so excited – Christmas is definitely around the corner!
Even before the usual Christmas songs start playing, stores are already getting us in the holiday spirit with their new Christmas ads. John Lewis recently released its much-awaited ad, and other big retailers like Asda, Boots, Sainsbury’s, and Marks & Spencer have also begun their Christmas campaigns.
Looking for some Christmas cheer? Digital Spy has collected a list of the best British Christmas adverts released so far this year. You can watch all the touching holiday ads here.
What to Read Next
John Lewis Christmas Ad
Let’s start with John Lewis, arguably the most eagerly awaited Christmas ad release each year. The retailer consistently delivers heartwarming campaigns that often become national favorites.
This year, their advertisement resonated with audiences by telling the touching story of a father and son who both love music.

The touching Christmas ad uses the classic 90s dance song ‘Where Love Lives’ to show how much a meaningful gift can matter.
The message is impactful and concludes with the phrase: “If you can’t find the words, find the gift.”
Asda Christmas Ad
Asda is launching its Christmas marketing campaign with a well-known celebrity face.
Dr. Seuss’ iconic green meanie The Grinch leads the advert with a new rendition of Let It Snow.
The Grinch is feeling the pinch of rising costs, but Asda’s affordable prices offer a bit of Christmas cheer and help him through it.
Sainsbury’s Christmas Ad
This year, Sainsbury’s is partnering with Roald Dahl’s Big Friendly Giant to bring some holiday joy to shoppers.
The latest Sainsbury’s ad features Roald Dahl’s Big Friendly Giant teaming up with a store employee named Annie to save Christmas dinners from a mischievous giant.
This advertisement highlights how important it is to have access to good, affordable food. The supermarket is also working with Comic Relief to provide more than five million meals to families who are struggling to afford food.
Argos Christmas Ad
For Argos’s Christmas ad campaign, actor Simon Bird, known for his role in The Inbetweeners, is the main star.
I was totally surprised by the new Christmas ad! It’s a really cool departure for them, going with a thriller vibe instead of the usual heartwarming stuff. It definitely caught my attention!
This comedic crime thriller features Bird being kidnapped by a pair of toys with a mission: to show everyone there’s more to the Argos store than meets the eye.
He finally has a happy ending when his family and friends are delighted with the gifts he chose for them on the special day.
M&S Christmas Ad
This year’s M&S Christmas ad features Dawn French as a driver feeling stressed in holiday traffic. Her mood is quickly brightened when a fairy appears and leads her to an M&S truck overflowing with delicious food.
I’m really excited about the new Christmas ad! It’s all about the amazing food they have, and they’ve even teamed up with chef Tom Kerridge to create a special range – it looks incredible!
The famous chef briefly appears in the ad as a frustrated driver also caught in the traffic jam.
Morrisons Christmas ad
Morrisons is getting everyone in the holiday spirit, pointing out that many people start preparing for Christmas surprisingly early – some even start singing carols in August! They’re highlighting how much the UK loves the festive season.
Morrisons has been working all year to grow, make, bake, and create everything you need for Christmas, as announced in a recent voiceover.
The advert also features a new recording of Jona Lewie’s beloved Christmas earworm Stop the Cavalry.
Boots Christmas ad
Boots, the British store, is using a fun, updated take on the classic story of Puss in Boots for their Christmas commercial in 2025.
Excited to attend the Snow Queen’s Ball, Puss quickly sets out to find some gifts to bring.
Looking into his magic mirror, he learns he needs to go to Boots to find the ideal gifts for everyone in his fairytale world.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can find Ariana & Witches at newsagents or online for only £8.99.
