Conor Maynard responded to Charlotte Chilton’s recent claims that he fathered her daughter, jokingly suggesting someone from the reality show The Traitors might actually be the dad.
Charlotte, 32, revealed last June that Conor, also 32, was reportedly the father of her baby, conceived during a brief encounter. She described the pregnancy as a ‘miracle’.
Despite previous assumptions, two paternity tests have confirmed that the singer, who recently got engaged to Kitty Bertrand, is not the child’s father.
Even though the DNA tests say otherwise, Charlotte continues to believe Conor is the father of her daughter, Penelope. She recently gave an emotional interview, explaining the negative test results might be due to a rare condition called chimerism.
She promised to keep fighting to establish who her baby’s father is, firmly stating, “There’s absolutely no doubt – Penelope could only be my child.”
I was really glad to see Conor address everything on Instagram last night. He explained he felt he had to speak up and defend himself – that he really didn’t see any other way to protect his reputation. It was good to hear it directly from him.

He firmly denied being Penelope’s father, repeatedly stating it wasn’t him. He then shared a private message he’d received alleging that Charlotte had a romantic encounter with another cast member from Traitors, a name Daily Mail is withholding.
Conor shared a message he received on social media from the ex-wife of a star on the show Traitors. She claimed her ex-husband had told her he slept with Charlotte around the time she became pregnant with Penelope.
After seeing a clip from Charlotte’s interview, he wrote, ‘I feel like I have no other option but to address what’s been happening.’
He began his video: ‘So I’m going to show you guys something. I received this DM.
He then read the message, which accused someone of having an affair with Charlotte around the time the sender also had a relationship with her, and suggested this occurred around the time Charlotte became pregnant.
Conor believes people are still questioning him because of something Charlotte said in the video he’s watching.
I generally avoid sharing personal issues, but there’s a limit to how much I’ll tolerate before I need to stand up for myself.
He responded to Charlotte’s argument that DNA tests aren’t proving his paternity because of a rare genetic condition called chimerism, and he also denied claims that he paid the DNA testing companies to manipulate the results.

Okay, so he basically said, and honestly, it makes total sense to me, that because Charlotte was so insistent – she literally kept saying ‘It has to be Conor, only Conor!’ – everyone’s scrambling for answers now that those two official DNA tests both proved he isn’t the father. I mean, I get it! It’s shocking, and people are trying to figure out how that could possibly be, given what Charlotte said. It’s just… wild.
You’ll be examining unusual medical cases involving people with two distinct sets of DNA. This might lead you to suspect that Conor somehow influenced these large DNA testing companies.
Conor explained he didn’t have the money or the desire to do it, stating, ‘I really don’t have enough money, and honestly, I’d love to, but I just can’t.’
Forget about the money – I wouldn’t do that regardless. If the DNA test had confirmed I was the father, things would have played out very differently. But that wasn’t the case.
He clarified he wasn’t saying the Traitors star was the father, but was simply trying to prove Charlotte wrong about him being the only possible father of Penelope.
He expressed hope that the new information would make it clear Penelope is likely not his biological daughter.
Daily Mail have contacted representatives for Charlotte and the Traitors star for comment.
Charlotte recently spoke to The Sun, sharing her feelings about the current debate over who her child’s father is. She suggested a rare medical issue might be the reason for the conflicting paternity test results.
She explained that she had done a lot of research to determine the paternity of her daughter, and is certain that Conor Maynard is the father.

After talking with doctors, it seems I might have been pregnant with twins, but unfortunately lost one very early in the pregnancy.
Sometimes, unusual genetics can occur, like a condition called chimerism. This means a twin could inherit DNA in a way that makes a standard paternity test ineffective, as their father might not show up on the results.
Chimerism happens when an organism’s body contains cells with different genetic makeups – essentially, it has two different sets of DNA within it.
Chimerism happens naturally sometimes, like when identical twins fuse in the womb. It can also occur when someone receives an organ or stem cell transplant, as their body then contains cells from the donor.
It can also happen through the exchange of cells during pregnancy, known as microchimerism.
Charlotte mentioned that twins are common in her family, so she wouldn’t be surprised if Penelope had a twin sibling.
Let me tell you, this has been a really tough time for her. She’s absolutely determined to clear things up and feels confident she’ll get to the bottom of it because she genuinely believes she knows what really happened. She’s proactively working with professionals to build a strong case and gather the evidence she needs. Honestly, it’s been incredibly draining – she confided in me that she’s even struggled with suicidal thoughts, feeling completely overwhelmed and at her breaking point. She said this whole situation almost completely destroyed her life, and it’s clear she’s been deeply affected.

Charlotte says she’s been getting a lot of hateful messages during the debate over the paternity test, but she continues to insist that she is the child’s mother.
On Thursday, Conor reacted to Charlotte’s recent interview by sharing a video on Instagram that seemed to playfully mock her statements. He used the post to also promote his new song, “Cherry On Top.”
He made a sarcastic remark, offering an ‘invisible tissue for your invisible tears,’ and then threw the empty tissue box away.
The lyrics of his new song appeared to reference his ongoing dispute over paternity tests, with lines like, ‘Why are you constantly talking, won’t you stop? / No one is listening because you talk too much, just be quiet.’
He simply captioned the post: ‘My response to the most recent news..’
In September, Conor responded to Charlotte’s statements about their paternity test, stating he wanted to share his side of the story, and used the opportunity to promote his new music.
The social media personality shared a video on Instagram, playfully presenting himself as if in a press conference. He addressed the recent questions about who a child’s father is with subtle, teasing comments.
Reporters immediately began peppering Conor with questions. One asked, “Conor, are the rumors true that you still have trouble refusing requests from women?” Another, in a surprising line of questioning, asked, “Approximately how much money did you spend to alter your DNA?”

Someone is holding up a baby picture with Conor’s face photoshopped onto it, teasing him and saying, ‘Look, the baby looks just like you!’
Billy Jean from One Night Standard asks, “Considering all the controversy and accusations you’ve faced in the last year and a half, would you like to address them?”
Following the birth of her daughter, Penelope, Charlotte stated that Conor wouldn’t recognize her as his child.
A paternity test showed Conor wasn’t the father. However, Charlotte stated that another man was present at the time the DNA sample was taken.
The woman, who has one child, also claimed Conor abruptly changed where testing would happen and that her own DNA sample wasn’t collected.
After a second test confirmed Conor wasn’t the father of Charlotte’s daughter, Charlotte released a statement.
As many of you know from watching Charlotte on ‘The Traitors,’ she’s always been incredibly passionate about honesty and doing what’s right. It’s something she truly believes in, and she’s fought really hard for it, even facing some tough challenges. Her team let me know this recently, and it really resonated with me – it explains so much about her character!
We are deeply thankful for the constant love and support everyone has given Charlotte over the last year.
We’re especially grateful to Lorna McCammon from SFR Law and Paul Lunt from Brabners, our fantastic legal advisors, for their incredibly helpful advice and support. We truly couldn’t have achieved this without them.
Charlotte needs time to heal and think things through, and she’ll share the complete story when she feels ready.
Conor shared a statement on social media explaining that he’d received the results of a second paternity test. Charlotte had requested the test concerning their daughter, Penelope.
‘As with the last test, this test has confirmed again that I am not Penelope’s father.
At Charlotte’s request, DNA samples were collected from Penelope, Charlotte, and me at a DNA testing facility approved by the Ministry of Justice, which Charlotte chose. The results are definitive.
This has been a challenging time for both me and my family, and we truly appreciate all the support we’ve received. I’m relieved to be able to move forward and put this behind us.
