Metallica fans lash out after metalheads are spotted smoking meth and marijuana during Perth gig: ‘It was like a beacon for derros’

Metallica fans are reporting disturbing behavior from other attendees at the band’s concert in Perth on Saturday.

Metallica launched their first Australian tour in over ten years with a concert at Optus Stadium in Perth.

After the show, many fans shared their disappointment online, upset by reports of other attendees using drugs.

Numerous Reddit users reported seeing concertgoers using drugs like methamphetamine, marijuana, and DMT during the band’s performance.

One concertgoer expressed strong disapproval of someone smoking methamphetamine at the Metallica concert, writing, ‘Seriously, get a life.’

Someone is angrily telling another person to be considerate of the many families and individuals, including children, who are simply trying to have a good time. They are using extremely offensive language to express their frustration.

A second claimed that they had also witnessed concertgoers imbibing illicit drugs.

According to witnesses, a woman in the general admission area at the Metallica concert sat down and began smoking a pipe. This quickly attracted a group of people who asked to share it.

Another person agreed, stating that the methamphetamine issue in Perth is spiraling out of control, and using it at a crowded concert endangers everyone nearby. They described it as appalling behavior.

Another claimed that the smell of marijuana in the crowd was palpable.

‘GA2 smelt like Snoop Dogg’s basement,’ they said.

‘I was quite surprised how many drugs slipped through the net tbh.’

Fans weren’t only upset about drug use at the concert; one attendee also reported witnessing another disturbing incident during the Suicidal Tendencies opening set.

‘Genuinely so disappointed at everyone during Suicidal,’ they wrote.

At a gathering, a couple of disruptive people caused a disturbance. Someone urinated publicly near me and a friend, and another person wouldn’t remove their arm from around me despite my discomfort. There was also a lot of spilled drinks and physical jostling.

Daily Mail has reached out to Optus Stadium for comment.

Meanwhile, two men were charged after committing a dangerous act at the anticipated gig.

Two men, ages 20 and 23, reportedly climbed the central tower of the stadium while the band was performing. The 20-year-old is from Carey Park, a suburb of Bunbury, and the 23-year-old is from Australind.

The two men are facing a trespassing charge and will need to go to court at a later time.

Metallica will continue their tour with a show in Adelaide on November 5th at Adelaide Oval, followed by a concert in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on November 8th.

The band will finish their Australian tour with concerts in Brisbane on November 12th and in Sydney on November 15th.

The band announced their Australian tour last year, and it’s their first time performing there in over a decade.

Metallica hasn’t toured Australia since playing the 2013 Soundwave festival, where they were a headlining act alongside Linkin Park and Blink-182.

In 2020 the band cancelled their Australian stadium tour after James entered rehab for addiction.

A statement released at the time said that our brother, James, has battled addiction for several years.

‘He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.

We’re hoping to visit you as soon as our health and schedules allow, and we’ll be in touch with updates as soon as we have them.
