Laura Dern, the Academy Award-winning actress, announced the passing of her mother, Diane Ladd, on Monday. According to a statement from Dern, her mother died peacefully at her home in Ojai that morning, with Dern by her side. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Laura Dern described the late actress as an extraordinary daughter, mother, grandmother, artist, and a deeply compassionate person, saying she seemed like a figure from a dream. Dern added that they were incredibly fortunate to have known her.
