Considering the Russo brothers often drop subtle clues about their Marvel movies, fans are carefully analyzing their latest post. Some Marvel enthusiasts believe it might suggest a deeper connection between Iron Man and Doctor Doom in the next Avengers film, going beyond the fact that Robert Downey Jr. has played both characters.
A popular idea sparked by the video is that the Russo brothers might be hinting that Doctor Doom from the Doomsday project is actually a version of Tony Stark, and that’s why Robert Downey Jr. was cast in the role.

So far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it hasn’t been confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. will be portraying Doctor Doom as Victor Von Doom.
When Marvel announced Downey’s casting, many fans wondered how they would convincingly portray the famous comic book villain, considering Downey was primarily known for a very different role.
The casting of Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a major point of discussion for fans for a long time. Most people expected Marvel to cast a very famous actor for the role when the character finally appeared.
One way to make sense of Robert Downey Jr.’s potential return as Doctor Doom is if he’s not playing the Doom fans are familiar with. If this is a hint that the Doom appearing in Avengers: Doomsday is actually a Tony Stark variant, it would explain why Downey is reprising the role.
