Allison Langdon has strongly defended Channel Nine’s choice to feature Bonnie Blue, a well-known adult film performer, in an interview on Monday’s A Current Affair program.
The presenter reacted after facing criticism online when the well-known 26-year-old adult performer, originally from the UK, said she would be traveling to Australia to film content for her website.
I’m a big fan of Bonnie Blue, or Tia Billinger as she’s actually known, and I was really bummed to hear about her Schoolies Week trip falling through. She’d been planning to come to Australia to celebrate finishing school with everyone else, but unfortunately, her visa was cancelled, so she couldn’t make it.
Langdon explained that the contentious online discussion was intended to encourage a wider conversation about how violent pornography affects men and women.
Allison explained in an article published on Nine’s website on Monday that her team seriously debated whether to even meet with Bonnie Blue. She questioned, ‘Why would we agree to this?’
Ultimately, we decided our role is to share stories about what’s happening in the world, including the difficult and challenging aspects, not just the positive ones.

Bonnie Blue is a public figure and isn’t going anywhere. Interviewing her doesn’t give her a platform – she’s already established one for herself.
We believe every parent and grandparent should be aware of this person, as chances are, your teenagers already know who she is.
In defending the interview with Blue, Langdon explained that the story was too important to overlook and needed to be addressed.
This is because the adult actress was ‘targeting young boys,’ Langdon wrote.
She wrote that they hope parents will feel confident talking to their children about what they see online and how it affects them.
This is an opportunity to discuss how violent pornography affects everyone – especially since we know some young people start watching it as early as age 11.
I, like a lot of other fans, was really upset by what happened in the chat. Many of us immediately took to social media to share just how angry we were about it all.
Someone on X (formerly Twitter) reported that their niece or nephews were exposed to the term “group sex” during a news interview about the Affordable Care Act at 7 p.m.

Parents really need to know what their children are watching. Programs like A Current Affair are featuring sensational stories – in this case, about Bonnie Blue and alleged orgies – during family viewing hours.
Okay, so I was scrolling through X, and someone else is as horrified as I am! They started watching that interview with Bonnie Blue on The Current Affair, and honestly, I’m with them – why are they even giving her a platform on national television?! It’s just… baffling. I mean, seriously?! I can’t believe they’re letting her say whatever she wants on TV. It’s infuriating!
‘I can’t see she’s got any redeeming qualities (and she) demeans women.’
A viewer asked ABC’s Media Watch program to investigate Ally’s interview with the OnlyFans model, describing it as particularly noteworthy.
Someone watching from home criticized both Blue and the show’s ongoing coverage on X.
‘Do Americans still have their A Current Affair? Has it tumbled as far as ours?’ they began.
I think many parents are becoming overly reliant on others, and it’s absurd that a show would feature someone expressing interest in high school students, then immediately shift blame to parents if things go wrong.
One X user captured the sentiment of many viewers, commenting, ‘A Current Affair interviewing Bonnie Blue? They’re really reaching for stories.’

Shortly before the government cancelled her visa, Blue planned to travel to the Gold Coast during Schoolies week. She intended to offer sexual services to 18-year-old men in exchange for allowing her to film the encounters and post the videos on her OnlyFans account.
In a recent online conversation, Blue shared that she was still determined to perform her stunt, even though she’s not allowed to travel to Australia for the next four years.
Okay, so Blue basically just implied she might be coming back to Australia super soon – like, within weeks! Apparently, she’s thinking about hitting up Schoolies, which is this huge end-of-year celebration for high school grads that happens around late November/early December. I’m already checking flights, honestly. This is HUGE!
‘I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say I’ve got good lawyers and I will be doing schoolies this year,’ Blue told Langdon.
Langdon was stunned and exclaimed, ‘I’m amazed the Australian government is letting you return.’
‘A good lawyer gets you a very long way, maybe even Down Under,’ Blue teased.
The Department of Home Affairs cancelled Blue’s 12-month visitor visa late last year.
Because she intended to work while visiting, which her visa didn’t allow, she was prohibited from returning to the country.
