After several months on the market and a failed auction, Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons have finally sold their large Sydney home.
After failing to sell their Cremorne home for $24.5 million in August, the couple has now found a buyer.
The couple apparently sold their house for under the original listed price and are said to be moving to a smaller apartment in nearby Mosman.
Despite getting over 45,000 views on realestate.com.au when it was first listed, the property didn’t initially generate much serious buyer interest.
In 1998, Lisa and Peter bought the historic home, Ingleneuk, for $2.95 million. If they sell it for anywhere close to its current value, they stand to make a profit of over $20 million.
This beautiful six-bedroom home, originally built in 1903 and lovingly restored, offers stunning harbour views from its large 3,125 sqm block. It features a tennis court, a heated pool, and beautifully maintained gardens.

The buyers purchased two adjacent properties, restoring the estate to its original size and giving it access from two streets – a highly desirable feature that makes this property one of the most sought-after locations on the Lower North Shore.
Lisa and Peter have welcomed many famous Australians to their home over the years, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Hugh Jackman, and Nigella Lawson.
Earlier this year, people online strongly criticized the couple for the very high price they were asking for their house.
People online pointed out the contrast between the wealthy lifestyle of this prominent media couple and their publicly stated progressive political beliefs.
Someone noticed that Lisa Wilkinson and Peter Fitzsimons, both well-known progressive voices, are selling their home for $23 million and joked online that Prime Minister Albanese might be considering them for positions at the United Nations.
‘Just a couple of everyday Australian battlers,’ another wrote.
Peter strongly supports Australia becoming a republic and used to lead the Australian Republican Movement.

He has also been vocal regarding his views on green policies and sustainability over the years.
He and his wife are both politically left-leaning and were thrilled when Anthony Albanese won the election in 2022 – they even hosted a party to celebrate his victory.
Oh my gosh, you wouldn’t BELIEVE who was there! It was insane – seriously, EVERYONE was there! All the biggest actors, politicians, even my favorite TV stars… they were all crammed into this absolutely HUGE, ridiculously expensive mansion right on the harbor. It was like a dream, honestly! I couldn’t stop staring!
Ingleneuk now owns a large amount of land on the North Shore, thanks to the owners’ efforts to return it to its original size.

This beautiful Edwardian mansion boasts stunning views of the harbor and city. It still has all of its original, impressive details, like its distinctive overhanging eaves.
Lisa brought in heritage architect Clive Lucas to repair original features of her large house, such as the fence posts, decorative woodwork, and the servant’s bell.
This home offers luxurious features like a bright sunroom, a chef’s kitchen, a cozy library, and several gas and wood-burning fireplaces. Beautiful details include stained glass doors and elegant wood floors.
The property also features a heated pool and pavilion set within beautifully landscaped gardens designed by Will Dangar. Plans have been approved to build a three-car garage with an additional studio space.
