Aussies left furious after Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher mock the Australian accent during Melbourne concert

As a huge Oasis fan, I was really disappointed to hear that Noel and Liam Gallagher made fun of the Australian accent during their Melbourne show on Friday. A lot of us Aussies were pretty upset about it, honestly. It just didn’t feel great to hear them take a jab at how we speak, especially at a concert we were all so excited to be at.

During a performance of their hit song “Don’t Look Back in Anger” – which the entire crowd of 55,000 at Marvel Stadium was singing along to – the band made a funny remark.

During the song’s chorus, 58-year-old guitarist Noel playfully teased the audience about their strong Australian accents.

Noel, clearly puzzled, exclaimed, “What on earth does ‘anga’ mean?” Liam watched, clearly amused by his brother’s confusion.

Angry fans immediately flooded social media to criticize the band from Manchester for mocking the famous Australian accent.

‘As if he says it any better LMAO,’ one person quipped.

‘He’s insufferable,’ a second added and another chimed in: ‘International bully’.

However, another suggested the brothers were simply displaying their trademark cheeky humour.

Someone commented that they were present last night and didn’t expect anyone to be upset by the remark, explaining that playful banter about pronunciation between the British and Australians has been happening for centuries.

The brothers started their Australian tour with an energetic performance on Friday night.

Oasis kicked off their Australian tour with a sold-out concert at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, playing to a massive crowd of excited fans.

The famous brothers were surprised mid-performance of “Champagne Supernova” when a fan ignited flares during the concert.

Video of the event captured a bright red light shining on the people with nosebleeds just before a flare was thrown into the crowd.

It fell to the floor in the middle of the crowded, energetic crowd, glowing brightly and causing people to try and move out of the way.

Despite the disturbance, Liam and Noel, aged 53 and younger respectively, continued their performance. The younger brother spoke out about the dangerous behavior after finishing his song.

Liam playfully scolded whoever had misbehaved, shaking his finger at them before continuing with the performance. He repeated ‘naughty’ several times to emphasize his gentle disapproval.

However, according to one attendee, Noel ‘looked worried’ about the incident.

Liam later took to social media to slam the culprit yet again.

The person who set off the flare at last night’s Melbourne concert is in serious trouble. The artist warned them they will face consequences for their actions.

Many other fans went to Reddit to criticize the person who set off a flare and tossed it into the crowd.

Someone expressed outrage that a person’s face was burned, calling it a terrible act. They hope those responsible are arrested and prohibited from performing at events.

Oasis is returning to Melbourne for a show on Tuesday before continuing their tour to New South Wales.

The band will perform at Accor Stadium in Sydney next Friday and Saturday, November 7th and 8th. This marks their first tour of Australia since 2005.

The band is incredibly popular in Australia. Two of their albums have gone to number one on the ARIA chart, and their song “Wonderwall” was a chart-topper in 1996.

The band announced their reunion last year, ending a decade-long split caused by a famous rivalry between Noel and Liam. They finally resolved their differences, allowing them to play together again after 2009.
