The League of Legends World Championship 2025 is reaching a critical point. This game will determine who moves on to the final match.
T1 demonstrated their impressive skill in the quarterfinal match against Anyone’s Legend. While they sometimes struggle during the regular season and early tournaments, T1 consistently performs at a much higher level as they advance towards the finals of the League of Legends World Championship.
As a Top Esports fan, it was tough watching them drop those two matches in the Swiss Stage – both losses came against really solid Korean teams, KT Rolster and Gen.G. They looked incredible in the quarterfinals, no doubt, but let’s be real, G2 isn’t T1. Facing T1 would be a completely different challenge, and I’m a little worried about that.
T1 is expected to win their semifinal match at the 2025 League of Legends World Championship against Top Esports. Historically, T1 has never lost a best-of-five series to teams from the LPL (China’s professional league) at Worlds. While TES did defeat T1 in a single game last year, it wasn’t in a longer, best-of-five format.

One step for LCK to fully dominate LoL Worlds 2025
In the LCK semifinals, KT Rolster surprised everyone by defeating Gen.G.
It’s no surprise to see three League of Legends teams from the LCK – widely considered the best region – reach the top four at Worlds. Now, T1 has a chance to solidify that dominance by making the final round an all-Korean affair.
T1 at Worlds
As an organization, T1 was in three LoL Worlds grand finals and claimed the trophy in two of them.
- Four players in the current roster of T1 won the Worlds in 2024 and 2023.
 - Throughout all the League of Legends World Championships, T1 faced Chinese teams (LoL Pro League, LPL) 11 times and won all these Bo5 matches. The record includes the two grand finals in 2023 and 2024: against Weibo Gaming and BLG.

Man, the Worlds 2025 quarterfinals were insane! I was on the edge of my seat watching T1 play against Anyone’s Legend – another really strong team from the LPL. It was a super close game, honestly!

TES on a big international stage
For Top Esports, it’s the second Worlds semifinal — after the tournament in 2020.
- At Worlds 2024, Top Esports defeated T1 in a Bo1 Swiss Stage match. The revenge came in the quarterfinal, where T1 won with a 3:0.
 - TES were in the grand final of the LoL Esports World Cup 2025. That also was a match versus T1, and Top Esports lost it with a 1:3.

Top Esports added two new players to their main team after the recent tournaments. Will Can Hang and Kanavi be able to help the team succeed?

As a huge League of Legends fan, I’m already looking forward to Worlds 2025 – it’s going to wrap up on November 9th! After the championship match, things will quiet down for a bit while all the teams figure out their rosters for next season. But don’t worry, League will be back with the regional leagues kicking off at the start of 2026. It’s always a fun time!
