Offset, a member of the rap group Migos, is facing a lawsuit from a security guard. The guard claims Offset assaulted and intentionally caused him emotional distress during an incident at a Los Angeles dispensary.
According to TMZ, the 33-year-old hip hop artist, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is facing accusations of assaulting a security guard named Jim Sanchez at the MedMen LAX store in March.
Okay, so I’m hearing from Sanchez that Offset – my Offset! – apparently got really upset. Like, seriously, he lost it! It happened when Sanchez just asked him for ID, can you believe it? All over a simple ID! It’s just…everything with him and Cardi B right now is a mess, and it seems like even asking for his ID set him off. I’m so worried about him, honestly.
The guard says the musician started acting aggressively, arguing loudly, and then hit him in the face.
Sanchez alleges that after Offset, others at the scene continued to physically attack him.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what happened! He says the impact gave him the worst headache and neck pain imaginable – seriously, he needed paramedics! They actually had to take him to the hospital, it was that bad! I’m so worried about him, it just sounds awful!
Offset’s team previously stated the incident began when the security guard acted aggressively towards him, even allegedly spitting on him, leading to the conflict.
According to reports from TMZ, Offset allegedly hit a security guard, who then responded by spraying mace at Offset and those with him.
On top of his ongoing legal issues, Offset is also going through a difficult divorce with Cardi B.
Cardi B revealed in September that she and NFL player Stefon Diggs are expecting a baby. The announcement came four months after they publicly confirmed they were dating.
The Grammy winner already has three kids with Offset.
She revealed her pregnancy during an appearance on CBS Mornings on Wednesday with host Gayle King.
‘I’m having a baby with my boyfriend Stefon Diggs,’ Cardi told King.
‘I’ve been putting in all this work, but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.’
I’m feeling really good and positive right now,” she said. “My partner and I are very supportive of each other, and we’re both at a similar point in our careers. I truly believe we’re a fantastic team and excel at what we do.
The singer said her baby is due in February.
In March, Cardi B publicly accused her soon-to-be ex-husband, Offset, of harassment and death threats during a heated argument related to their divorce.
Cardi B, who filed for divorce from Offset last July, claimed on X Spaces that he’s been paying bloggers to harass her online.
The star also demanded an apology or she would ‘expose f***ing everything,’ per Hot New Hip Hop.
Cardi B said that a man is angry with her because she shared messages with his girlfriend. These messages showed him pleading with Cardi B, and threatening to harm both himself and her.
She also claimed her ex-partner continues to harass her, repeatedly calls and leaves voicemails, and attempts to undermine her confidence.
Cardi B and Offset secretly got married in 2017. However, Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset again in July 2024, marking their third attempt to end the marriage.
Oh my gosh, back in early 2018, there were all these rumors about Offset… it was awful! Everyone was saying things, but Cardi and Offset stuck it out, and then, thankfully, they announced they were having a baby in April! I was SO relieved and happy for them both – it felt like a fresh start, you know?
However, five months after Kulture was born, Cardi B announced their split in December 2018.
They got back together the following year, and in September 2020, she hinted to Elle magazine that their relationship might have some difficulties.
That same month, she filed for divorce – which was called off a few months later in November.
The couple, who are no longer together, share three children: six-year-old Kulture, three-year-old Wave, and Blossom, who was born in September 2024.
According to a source who spoke with Page Six when she filed for divorce last year, the couple simply drifted apart, and that was the main reason she decided to end the marriage. She was determined to move forward with the separation.
According to a spokesperson for Cardi B, the decision to divorce isn’t due to rumors of infidelity, but rather something they’ve been considering for a while.
