Director Sam Mendes reveals actresses set to play Fab Four’s wives in new Beatles films

The popular saying claims every successful man has a supportive woman behind him, and now the stories of the four remarkable women who supported The Beatles will be told. Four acclaimed Hollywood actresses will portray these women.

Sam Mendes, the director of Skyfall, is producing a series of four films, each about a different Beatle. He has now announced the actresses who will play the wives of the band members.

Aimee Lou Wood, known for her role in The White Lotus, will portray Pattie Boyd, the wife of George Harrison. Saoirse Ronan, an Oscar-nominated Irish actress, will play Linda McCartney, who inspired many of Paul McCartney’s famous songs.

Anna Sawai, 33, known for her role in the drama series Shogun, will portray Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s wife. Mia McKenna-Bruce, 28, a British actress, will play Maureen Cox, who was married to Ringo Starr.

Emerald Fennell’s upcoming film features a talented cast portraying the Beatles: Barry Keoghan (known for Saltburn) will play John Lennon, Joseph Quinn (Fantastic Four) will be George Harrison, Harris Dickinson (Triangle of Sadness) will portray Paul McCartney, and Paul Mescal (Gladiator II) will play Ringo Starr.

Entitled The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event, the project was announced last year.

Each film will tell the story of The Beatles from a different band member’s point of view, starting with their early days in Liverpool in the 1960s, through their rise to global fame, and ending with their split in 1970.

For the first time ever, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison have agreed to allow movies to be made about their lives.

Shawn Mendes revealed the four women joining his project on Saturday: Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie. He described them as incredibly interesting individuals and expressed his excitement that four highly skilled filmmakers agreed to participate in this exciting endeavor.
