Big Brother winner Cameron Cole left with a black eye and cut face after horrific homophobic attack

Cameron Cole, the winner of Big Brother, was injured in a recent attack, leaving him with a black eye and a cut on his face.

The 26-year-old vlogger, who won a reality show in 2018, was celebrating his birthday when he was subjected to homophobic abuse and insults.

On Friday, Cameron shared a photo on Instagram showing his bruised and bloodied face, along with an explanation of what occurred.

The TV star said he was upset and shaken by the attack, but he hoped that by sharing what happened, he could help others understand the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

He shared photos from his birthday, saying it was filled with love, but unfortunately, he also encountered people who expressed hate and violence.

‘They targeted me with homophobia and slurs, and later attacked me when I was alone.’

Cameron explained that the experience was deeply upsetting and made them feel incredibly vulnerable – something no one should have to feel simply for being themselves. They expressed gratitude to their friend (CARZ) for their support, but emphasized that the situation never should have happened in the first place.

‘But here’s what I realised: this isn’t just about me, or just about the LGBTQ+ community.

This is for everyone who’s ever felt like an outsider – every minority group, every silenced voice, anyone told they don’t fit in. Those in power try to create divisions, but they won’t succeed.

I had a lovely birthday, but the recent attack has really upset me. However, it’s also motivated me to stand up against those responsible and I won’t give up. You won’t succeed, no matter how hard you try!

Cameron was crowned the Big Brother series champion in 2018 when he was just 19-years-old.

He started crying immediately after hearing he’d won, telling host Emma Willis that being on the show – which he’d been a fan of his entire life – was the best experience of his life.

Cameron also thanked Lewis Flanagan, who he considers a big brother figure, for supporting him during a difficult time.

Talking to Emma, he shared how stunned he was, calling it the best moment of his life. He admitted he’d expected to be eliminated quickly, but couldn’t believe he’d made it this far.

He explained that he initially worried he wouldn’t get along with the other housemates and felt a bit out of place. However, he grew to love them and considered the house to be amazing, saying he couldn’t have gotten through the experience without their support.

I’m absolutely amazed – it’s truly incredible! This experience exceeded all my expectations, and in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It’s been profoundly life-changing, and I’m deeply grateful for everything that’s happened.

You know, watching Cameron on the show, it was really clear he had a strong bond with Lewis F. It seemed like they were each other’s rocks, really helping each other navigate everything that was happening. It’s so lovely to see those kinds of supportive friendships form, especially during a challenging experience like that.

He expressed immense affection, saying he loves him very much and is incredibly grateful for everything he’s done.

From the moment I met him, it just clicked. It was like finding my brothers, and we were inseparable – doing everything together. Honestly, it almost felt too good to be true, he’s just… incredible. I adore him, truly, and winning for him is a dream come true. But a part of me still can’t shake the feeling this is all a huge prank, a really elaborate joke!

Cameron shared a deeply personal moment with the other housemates earlier in the show, revealing he was gay. He had first confided in Lewis, and said Lewis’s support gave him the courage to come out to everyone.

He said he couldn’t have done it without this person’s help, and he felt incredibly supported and grateful for everything they did.

I intended to keep it to myself, but I completely forgot how many cameras are around these days. You can’t even have a private moment without being recorded.
