A leading doctor has expressed worry about Elon Musk’s health, noting that he appears to be aging quickly.
During his latest appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, released Friday, Elon Musk, 54, appeared visibly aged, tired, and lacking energy.
According to New York doctor Stuart Fischer, Donald Trump appeared noticeably more energetic and youthful in July 2024, even during the Republican National Convention, than he does now.
‘The exposure, the stress, and the controversy appear to have aged him physically and emotionally.’
Dr. Fischer, who never met with or treated Elon Musk, explained that noticeable aging isn’t just cosmetic – it can also increase the risk of serious health problems like heart attacks and strokes.
He explained that constant stress releases cortisol and adrenaline, which can damage the heart over time and increase the risk of blood clots.
Long-term stress can hinder your body’s ability to absorb nutrients, meaning important vitamins and antioxidants aren’t used as effectively, which can lead to cellular damage.
‘Poor sleep and eating poorly when you’re stressed only make it worse.’
When you’re highly stressed, your body releases hormones that can damage collagen. Collagen is a protein essential for keeping skin firm, flexible, and smooth.
This can lead to skin becoming dull, saggy and loose, dark circles appear and wrinkles form faster.
Being stressed out also makes it more difficult to sleep, compounding the effects.
It also takes a toll on the brain.
When stress hormones like cortisol stay high for too long, and combined with exhaustion, it can actually shrink the hippocampus – a key area of the brain responsible for memory. This makes it more difficult to concentrate, remember things, and manage your feelings.
Constantly pushing your mind can lead to mental fatigue, making you seem tired, forgetful, and less focused, which can give the impression you’re unwell.
Although Musk easily kept up with the three-hour podcast with Rogan, his usual hesitant pauses felt more noticeable and drawn out.
Dr. Fischer believes the man wasn’t prepared for the intense pressure of being involved in international politics for several years. He thinks the stress was simply too much.
Local politics can be challenging, but the strong disagreements we see on national and global issues are on a completely different scale.
Those who once admired him are now very hurt and disappointed, which is emotionally exhausting for everyone involved, especially since he’s also busy managing his businesses.
Elon Musk was once praised by many on the left for his work with clean energy. He identified as a Democrat and voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
After buying Twitter in 2022 and changing its name to ‘X’, his political views changed dramatically.
By the middle of 2024, he was posting much more about conservative issues on social media, and by the beginning of 2025, he had become an insider within the Republican government.
Elon Musk, nicknamed ‘First Buddy,’ will head the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This plan, which aims to significantly reduce the size of federal agencies, has already sparked controversy.
