Stephanie Waring, who previously starred in the show Hollyoaks, announced on Thursday that she had her breast implants taken out because of severe symptoms related to menopause.
Oh my gosh, you guys, it’s Cindy Cunningham! I mean, Stephanie Waring! She posted from the hospital just before her surgery! I’ve been watching her on Hollyoaks – I can’t believe it’s been since 1996! – and it’s just so scary to see her needing surgery. I’m sending all my love and hoping she recovers quickly! She is Cindy, you know? It won’t be the same without her!
In an Instagram video, she explained that she decided to remove her breast implants because she wanted to eliminate anything artificial from her body. This decision came after she began experiencing perimenopause at 43 and menopause at 45, even though her implants were perfectly healthy.
Stephanie shared that she’s been dealing with a lot of difficult symptoms and really wants the opportunity to feel like herself again.
I’m sad to say I have to remove my implants. If you’re going through something similar, please know you’re not alone.
She announced on social media that she finally had her breast implants removed after considering it for years. She’d had them for 14 years.

I’ve been following this actress for years, and her recent statement really resonated with me. She explained that this wasn’t a quick choice – she’d really thought it through. What I appreciated most was how she emphasized that everyone needs to make their own decisions about their body, and she wasn’t there to tell anyone what to do.
I’m just sharing my personal experience, particularly after experiencing early menopause and realizing I needed to stop struggling against my own body.
I’m not sure exactly how I’ll feel yet, but this feels like a good way to give my body a rest, reduce its workload, and begin a new chapter.
I’ll be happy to talk more about my explant surgery when I feel up to it. Right now, I’m focusing on rest and recovery as I start this new phase of my life.
‘I’m now home and recovering well. Thank you to everyone at Pall Mall Medical ..shoutout to Diane!’
In 2023, Stephanie shared that she desperately pleaded for assistance after receiving a perimenopause diagnosis.
The actress was deeply struggling with the changes happening in her body during menopause. She felt overwhelmed and believed that ending her life was the only escape from her intense pain.
She shared with The Sun that she was constantly in tears. She explained that she returned home one day to find her partner wasn’t there, and her children were with their father.

Stephanie recalled being on the bathroom floor, desperately screaming for help. She explained that doctors felt helpless at that stage, and she simply couldn’t handle it anymore.
I wasn’t trying to hurt myself, but I started to believe that disappearing might be the only way to end the pain.
She mentioned her health problems began when she started dating someone new. Despite it being a time that should have been joyful, she spent almost a year worrying about her health and losing sleep before finally seeing a doctor.
Stephanie stayed up until about 3am each night, which left her feeling mentally foggy and exhausted, and also caused problems with her eyesight.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what Stephanie, my absolute fave as Cindy Cunningham on Hollyoaks since, like, forever – 1998! – went through. She was looking at all sorts of things to help, even HRT, but she ended up deciding on a Mirena coil. I’m just so glad she found something that works for her, she’s amazing!
The coil releases progesterone and an oestrogen gel after being applied to the skin.
She explained that after getting the IUD, her anxiety became much worse. She worried about how her partner handled her sudden, intense outbursts.
The actress began to feel an intense itching all over her body, as if insects were crawling on her skin. Doctors diagnosed her with severe, persistent itching, known as debilitating pruritus.
It was discovered that her hormone levels were wrong which in turn led to her difficult symptoms.
