This actor is unmissable when he appears on screen thanks to his incredible seven-foot stature.
The actor, originally from the Netherlands, is very tall due to a condition called acromegaly. He became famous after moving to the United States to pursue a career in Hollywood.
He started his film career in a poorly received musical from the late 1970s that used Beatles songs.
He became truly famous in the early 1990s, starring in memorable roles in a beloved TV show that later became a movie and was revived decades later, and in a very successful and darkly humorous film that did extremely well in theaters.
This actor was seen doing errands around his Los Angeles home earlier this week.
Can you guess who he is?

Carel Struycken is a seven-foot-tall actor known for playing large and often fantastical characters in many movies and TV shows.
The actor was spotted handling chores at his Los Angeles home. He was casually dressed in a black fleece, gray t-shirt, black sweatpants, and flip-flops as he carried his trash bins to the curb, appearing slightly stooped.
Struycken was also seen carrying some packages and bags around the lawn.
In January, Twin Peaks actor Dana Ashbrook and his wife, Tracey, tragically lost their home in the Los Angeles fires in Altadena.
It was heartbreaking to see photos shared on GoFundMe of what was left of David Struycken’s home after the disaster. His son-in-law, Michael Anspach, posted the images, and it really shows the extent of the damage. It’s a tough time, and they’re reaching out for support as they begin to rebuild.
This week, the fundraiser reached approximately $104,000, helping the grandparents begin to rebuild their lives after losing their home.
Despite losing his primary home, he appeared to have moved into a new home in Long Beach.
Oh my gosh, you would NOT believe this about Struycken! He’s just…towering, seriously. And that’s how he got his start! He told me – well, he told everyone – that back in 1978, he was just standing on the corner of Hollywood and Vine, and this woman actually stopped her car right in the middle of the street! She was a producer, and she just begged him to be in her movie. Can you believe it? It’s like a fairytale! His height just completely changed his life, and I’m so glad it did, because we wouldn’t have him without it!
Struycken quickly landed a role in the musical Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, though it received very negative reviews. The production starred The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton and included other artists performing cover songs from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road.

Although the movie didn’t do particularly well in theaters, the actor, who was born outside of the country, used the part to launch a successful career with many more roles.
The actor became more well-known in the 1980s after appearing in the Star Wars TV movie, Ewoks: The Battle For Endor.
Because of his remarkable height, Struycken frequently appeared in fantasy, science fiction, and horror productions, notably in several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
He landed a part in the popular movie The Witches of Eastwick, playing Jack Nicholson’s butler. The film also featured Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Martin Struycken first appeared as a character known as The Giant on the TV show St. Elsewhere in 1988. He later reprised the same role – The Giant – in the very first episode of the second season of the popular mystery series, Twin Peaks.
Created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, the show featured surreal dreamlike scenes with Kyle MacLachlan, who played FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper. These sequences appeared after Cooper was mysteriously shot.
Struycken acted in five additional episodes of the original series, and later reprised his role in four episodes of the 2017 revival, Twin Peaks: The Return.
One year after becoming known for his role on television, he achieved box office success playing Lurch, the spooky butler, in the movie The Addams Family.

He played the part again in the 1993 sequel, Addams Family Values, which critics liked even more. He was one of the few original cast members to return for the 1998 TV movie Addams Family Reunion, which aired four years after the passing of Raul Julia, the actor who famously played Gomez Addams.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE how much I love Bruce Struycken! He was even in Men In Black back in ’97 – it was a small part, but still! And then, seriously, the last few years have been AMAZING for him. He was SO good in Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep – both directed by the incredible Mike Flanagan and based on Stephen King novels, obviously. Those roles were just…perfect for him, some of his best work EVER, honestly!
Struycken has appeared on several popular TV shows, including Babylon 5, Star Trek: Voyager, Charmed, My Name Is Earl, Cold Case, and The Blacklist.
He worked consistently for many years, but seems to have become less active recently, with his last known acting credit being in 2022.
When Struycken was four years old, his family moved to the Caribbean island of Curaçao, which was then part of the Netherlands Antilles. This group of islands later separated and became independent countries.
As a teen living abroad, he dedicated himself to composing music. He then returned to the Netherlands at age 16 to complete his education.
He discovered his passion for filmmaking while studying to be a director at a film school in Amsterdam.
Struycken expanded his filmmaking studies by relocating to the United States and attending the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
Although Struycken received training as a director, he became a successful actor and doesn’t seem to have ever directed a credited project.
