Honey Birdette founder Eloise Monaghan welcomes her first child with wife Rebecca and reveals wild birth twist and VERY unique name of the newborn

Eloise Monaghan, who co-founded the Australian lingerie brand Honey Birdette, and her wife, Rebecca Collinson-Smith, a designer, recently had their first child.

Eloise shared the happy news on Instagram Wednesday with a photo of Rebecca holding their newborn baby, taken just after the birth.

The businesswoman announced in her post that she and Rebecca are having a baby boy, sharing a surprising reveal about the pregnancy.

She excitedly wrote, “I hope she likes blue! It was such a surprise!” before sharing her baby’s unusual name.

‘Meet our new little cowgirl! Texas,’ she announced.

Well–wishes poured in, with many celebrities commenting on the heartwarming post.

Beau Ryan and his wife, Kara, are thrilled with the new baby! Kara commented on the announcement, saying how beautiful the name is and expressing excitement to meet the little one. She also wished the new mom a flood of happy hormones, saying, ‘Enjoy the love endorphins, mummas!’

TV personality Baz Dubois meanwhile wrote: ‘So beautiful, sending love’.

In June, the couple revealed they are expecting a baby. Eloise shared a picture of Rebecca, showing off her baby bump while wearing a bikini.

Eloise founded Honey Birdette, a daring lingerie and adult toy company, in Brisbane in 2006. The idea came to her after a visit to an adult toy store while shopping for a bridal shower.

In mid-2021, she famously sold Honey Birdette to PLBY Group, the company behind Playboy, for around $443 million.

Even after selling the company, the 49-year-old continued working as its creative director, but the arrangement didn’t last long—it ended after just eight months.

Eloise told Daily Mail Australia last year that she was heartbroken when her previous company failed.

‘It has been devastating to watch,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

I initially built the brand around genuinely empowering women – it wasn’t focused on unrealistic body standards. Now, it seems to have shifted to prioritizing just that.

Eloise explained that when she started working in the fashion industry, it wasn’t accepting of clothing designed for women or styles that celebrated female strength.

‘It felt like I was wearing a muzzle – so I just quit,’ she said.

Following her departure, Eloise quietly divorced her ex–wife Natalie and fell in love with Rebecca.

Rebecca and her partner have now teamed up in business, growing her swimwear and resort wear brand, Hunting Hue, by launching it in the United States.
