Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have put their feud firmly behind them.
The former Fleetwood Mac bandmates and ex-lovers haven’t always seen eye to eye.
After decades of being unavailable, their collaborative album, Buckingham Nicks, was re-released, bringing the duo back together and allowing them to start speaking again.
On the Song Explorer podcast, 77-year-old Stevie shared that she and Lindsey were reminiscing the night before, saying the events felt like they had just happened.
When asked about ‘Frozen Love,’ a song originally released in 1973 and recently rediscovered after being unavailable for many years, she explained that it’s about a couple who loved each other despite having different perspectives and ways of seeing the world.
‘But they had this like relationship that seemed to be, like a gift.

I envision this as a story reminiscent of classic, dramatic novels like ‘Wuthering Heights’ or ‘Great Expectations’ – a contemporary romance filled with hardship. People aren’t drawn to purely happy songs; at least, I wasn’t, and neither was Lindsey.
I’ve always been fascinated by the dynamic between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. They shared a romantic relationship from 1972 to 1976, but their musical partnership in Fleetwood Mac lasted much longer. It was really the end of an era when Lindsey ultimately left the band in 2018, even after all those years together.
Stevie admits that while their relationship was testing at times, it was also ‘fantastic’.
Oh my gosh, trying to describe us is so hard! It wasn’t always easy, believe me. We’d be amazing, then have a rough patch, then be incredible again… it was this constant cycle! But honestly? It was worth it. What we had was just… magical. All the drama, all the struggles? Totally worth it for those incredible moments. It was just… worth it.
In March, Mick Fleetwood, one of the original members of the band, expressed his hope that Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham would mend their relationship and reach a place of mutual understanding.
It’s surprising to see them speaking again, especially considering their very awkward three-minute interaction at their late bandmate Christine McVie’s funeral in 2023. Their current ability to talk is a significant improvement.

Stevie explained to Rolling Stone that Christine created a very dramatic scene at Nobu, where the incident occurred.
It was a really wild experience – we almost destroyed everything, honestly. We completely ripped down the decorated deck. It felt like someone – or something – was definitely present, it was that intense.
She went on to claim she gave Lindsey, 76, ‘more than 300 million chances’ to change his ways.
Stevie explained that she only spoke to Lindsey once, for about three minutes. She felt she’d given him plenty of opportunities, saying she’d given him ‘over 300 million chances’ to make things work.
Lindsey was fired following a reported argument with her ex-partner at the 2018 MusicCares benefit.
The singer behind ‘Dreams’ said her ex-boyfriend wasn’t kind to anyone, even her friend Harry Styles. Ultimately, it was her parents who convinced her to end the relationship.
