Katherine Ryan has publicly discussed wanting to have a facelift and try Ozempic, saying she wants to look her absolute best for her audience.
As someone who loves a little self-care (and gifting experiences!), I have to share something fun. Last year, I surprised my mom with a facelift for her birthday – she deserved it! And honestly, I’m already looking forward to treating myself to one too. It’s all about feeling good, inside and out, and sometimes a little boost can make all the difference.
The actress, who has never had facial plastic surgery, said she’ll always be open about any procedures she gets. She believes being honest ‘takes away the stigma’ and that keeping it a secret wouldn’t feel genuine.
Katherine shared her plans for cosmetic procedures on Davina McCall’s Begin Again podcast, emphasizing that she’s making these choices for herself, not to please men. She stated plainly, ‘I don’t care what men think.’
She expressed a desire to try Ozempic next year if necessary, and also mentioned considering a facelift, noting that more and more people are getting them at younger ages.
I can’t change my nose, and many people assume I’ve had surgery. But I haven’t – I wouldn’t pick this nose for myself if I could.

I’m not sure a lip lift would work for me because my nose is quite large and distinctive. Plus, I don’t really think that procedure is something men should get – I just think it’s a playful idea!
The popular television personality has publicly discussed getting breast implants in 2004, along with Botox and fillers. She often playfully jokes about the extensive plastic surgery others think she’s had.
Katherine shared that she takes jokes about having plastic surgery in stride, saying she believes she has a healthy perspective on those kinds of comments.
I haven’t had any facial plastic surgery. I also haven’t used Botox or fillers recently, mostly because I’ve been pregnant. My face has changed a lot during pregnancy – it’s swelled up and then gotten smaller, repeatedly.
Honestly, it’s not that I hate what I see when I look in the mirror, but as someone who performs, I really feel a responsibility to put on a show. If people are taking the time and spending money to come see me, I want them to get the best possible experience – and for me, that means bringing my most glamorous self. It’s just part of the entertainment business, and I believe my audience deserves it!
She explained that she would take action and then openly share what she’d done. It wasn’t about boasting or feeling guilty, but simply about being honest and owning her decision – admitting, ‘Yes, this is something I wanted to do.’
Getting a facelift, for me, is about feeling confident and owning your choices. If I were to have one, I’d be honest about it because being authentic is really important to me – I wouldn’t want to hide it.
It could also lead women who appreciated my honesty to question their own bodies, wondering why they don’t have the same physical results after having children.

She responded to men who commented on her appearance, criticizing them for assuming women only act to attract attention from men.
Katherine explained that traditional societal structures often center around the male perspective. She emphasized that she doesn’t consider how others perceive her actions or worry about their opinions at all.
People often claim they dislike lip filler, but I’m not making these choices for their approval. Their opinions simply aren’t a factor – I’m doing this for myself.
The actress, known for her role in ‘The Duchess,’ revealed she spent an impressive £50,000 to pay for her mother Julie’s facelift last year.
She explained to Davina that she thought the surgery could be really helpful for some women as they get older, allowing them to feel like themselves again when they look in the mirror.
She shared that she gave her mother, who is 65, a facelift for her birthday last year. She explained that she wanted to help her mother, born in 1960, maintain her beauty as she gets older, recognizing it can be challenging for women of that generation to age gracefully.
That generation was raised with certain beliefs. My mother also understood that physical attractiveness fades with time. For them, it felt like a betrayal to age and be overlooked.
I realized how lonely my mother was, and it wasn’t because she lacked attention. In fact, it wasn’t due to missing the constant, often unhealthy focus she’d always received.

I believe it can be a really isolating experience for women to look in the mirror and not see the person they know best – themselves. Your face changes over time, and it’s unsettling when you don’t recognize the person staring back at you.
I believe that’s why major life changes, like experiencing loss or going through a divorce, often lead people to stop worrying about what others think. It’s a chance to reconnect with who they truly are and rediscover themselves, to finally recognize their own identity again.
Katherine recently told Heat magazine that she embraces the idea of aging naturally, and she’s still considering getting a face lift.
I’ve stopped getting fillers and now focus more on staying healthy and living a long life. However, I wouldn’t say I’m completely against procedures. I always admired Joan Rivers and how confidently she handled people joking about her appearance.
I’m not worried about growing old and I’m open to cosmetic procedures. I’m even considering a face lift someday – my mum recently had one and looks fantastic! I’m not sure if British surgeons are as skilled at butt lifts as those in other countries, but it would be nice to look like Jennifer Lopez when I’m older.
Growing older, particularly as a woman, I believe the most important thing is to find happiness. And yet, I still want to get a face lift. I know it sounds contradictory, but I truly do.
She responded to claims that she’d used too many cosmetic fillers last year, and spoke about how quickly people jump to conclusions about celebrities’ appearances.
In an October interview on the Style DNA podcast with Amanda Wakeley, she discussed how steroids taken during her second pregnancy caused unusual weight gain.

Katherine continued, explaining that it felt strange and she looked drastically different. Despite this, she kept going out, filming, and performing stand-up comedy.
Many social media users commented that she’d had too much filler and had negatively altered her appearance, similar to the kind of comments often made about Simon Cowell.
Even celebrities like David Beckham and Zac Efron are sparking conversations about men using cosmetic fillers. It’s hard to know exactly who’s had work done, but it’s definitely becoming a more common topic.
It’s natural to gain weight or show signs of aging. People often compare current photos to old ones and comment on changes, but what they don’t see is the life lived in between. I’ve spent the last twenty years navigating challenges and raising three kids – of course I look different now.
I wasn’t planning any procedures anyway, and since Nina is a highly skilled surgeon, it wasn’t possible to have anything done while I was pregnant or nursing.
The comedian recently shared that while she still gets Botox, she’s no longer able to maintain the effects of facial fillers.
She explained that, considering her age and facial structure, she doesn’t think facial fillers would work well for her. She believes that if she had a stronger jawline, like Kylie Jenner’s, it might be different, but her anatomy wouldn’t hold the fillers in place.
I’ve been thinking about getting a little Botox, but not a lot – you need to be able to make facial expressions, especially when you’re around babies who need your reactions.
Amanda jumped in with: ‘But also, doesn’t your audience need you to move your face?’
Katherine joked, ‘I think they actually enjoy the Botox! It’s funny because I can’t make fun of it anymore – I’m taking away their experience of hearing those jokes.’
